Whitehead had to change the angle a bit with Hamlin in the way, but he still should have made that tackle

No there were 3 - Hamlin, Whitehead and someone else (maybe a linebacker)

Maybe it was short but they almost never over spots

Played should have been stopped 2-3 yards short.

There was a player closer to the line to get than Hamlin and inside of Whitehead - He may have been on the ground, but he was still a factor in how the play could have been stopped.
