Why is this Pitt commit only rated at 2 stars?

I mean, come on now.
I have a friend that works at Rivals. He told me that whenever a player commits to Pitt, an automatic email goes out to everyone involved with rating players, encouraging them to find a reason to drop the player’s ratings. He said it only happens with Pitt players, and he doesn’t know why.

I knew it!

A guy who we flipped from UNLV at the last minute when our preferred QB in the class left us at the altar? That sounds like a 2 star!

I don’t know the answer. But I do expect Duz to be telling the media repeatedly over the next couple years what a tremendous prospect he is, he’s our best kept secret, and how he’s dominant in practice, yet inexplicably he can never get on the field for games no matter how awful the guys actually playing are.

Doesn't a 2-star mostly imply the player really hasn't been seen by the experts who rate players--or at least only superficially seen on tape? In any event, it is doubtful that Narduzzi and staff would recruit a guy they didn't think was better than what is considered a 2-star talent.

I see size, arm strength, touch, and mobility in a prospect who’s only 17. I really don’t care what stars a website gives him —he seems worthy of the scholarship.
