Is not good at the simple game of Basketball
At some point hustling, being the first one to help players up and grabbing 5 rebounds a game isn’t going to cut it but he has to play. This team has no choice. Is not good at the simple game of Basketball
Shocking. At some point when you’re in a land of 5’6 guys playing center, then playing up so you can be a backup in AAU and try to fool everyone by your age it catches up to you. He’s a doctor, not a hooper. Is not good at the simple game of Basketball

He is the worst offensive starter I can ever remember. Its like playing a man down on offense. I understand he's young and guys like Lamar and Brad weren't good early on but its going to take THAT kind of improvement just for him to attain the status of "ACC-level player." Right now, he's not a starter at most mid-majors.
He is bad on the perimeter. He cant shoot and make the 3. The staff has given him the green light all year and he hasn't made a single 3 ball. Not one. Femi has some type of yellow or red light on 3 point shooting and has at least made a 3 ball in 3 different games. Jeffress is a zero. At least Jeffress has been solid in the midrange. He cant dribble penetrate and our staff even said as much and admitted it. He's a 4 playing on the wing which isnt working. Considering Gueye has been a disaster much of this season, I dont understand why Jeffress isnt getting moved to play some 4.
Jeffress also always turns the ball over on the perimeter, it happened again last night. Its a constant trend with him. He was pretty bad last night considering the game he had before which I thought he looked quite good.
3-for-30 so far in his career from 3 and most, as I recall, have been wide open. Overall, he is just a 31% shooter from the field. Is that good… asking for a friend.Well we are starting a wing player who cannot shoot and cannot dribble penetrate or get his own shot. He is a 0 on offense.
Need to apply Will Ferrell philosophy to him3-for-30 so far in his career from 3 and most, as I recall, have been wide open. Overall, he is just a 31% shooter from the field. Is that good… asking for a friend.
I actually misread the stats. He is 31% career from 2PT RANGE… overall he has made 23% of his shots.Need to apply Will Ferrell philosophy to him
You can shoot all you want in practice.

I think Brad and Lamar showed a whole lot more potential in their first couple years, basketball skill-wise. William shows good hustle, not sure about anything else.He is the worst offensive starter I can ever remember. Its like playing a man down on offense. The terribly disappointing thing about Capel is that even the highly ranked players were misses to an extent
Jeffress
McGowens (Top 75 but not a P6 starter on a good team)
Drumgoole (Top 150 but low major talent)
Coulibaly (Top 200, cant get off bench on A10 team with no depth)
Recruiting has just been a complete disaster in all aspects.
Let's look on the bright side.
This board is now almost in full agreement on all of this.
It's a Christmas miracle.

Agree and that’s being niceI think he'd be an 8 PPG guy at Gannon
Lamar and Brad "weren't good" as Freshmen, but they also weren't bad. Jeffress, I mean what has he shown? I don't care how young, he now has had almost 18 months of college coaching with college players to play against daily. Either he was just another kid who was overrated or this staff just cannot develop players. He is the worst offensive starter I can ever remember. Its like playing a man down on offense. He has been coached, playing and practicing against college level players now for 18 months. The age things starts to become irrelevantI'm not as down on him as soon, Remember he enrolled a year early. To me it looks like a confidence problem more than skill. Hopefully the kid can put a few good games together and then let's see what he does. It's not like he's taking valuable minutes away from someone.
Do you really need practice to show whether you can shoot the rock? He's shown no natural ability to put the ball in the hole.He has been coached, playing and practicing against college level players now for 18 months. The age things starts to become irrelevant
The question which none of us can answer is , how does he shoot it in practice ?He has been coached, playing and practicing against college level players now for 18 months. The age things starts to become irrelevant

It’s always going to be the excuse used for him. He will be a senior and people will say “remember, he’s only 20!”He has been coached, playing and practicing against college level players now for 18 months. The age things starts to become irrelevant
Disagree , this isn’t grade school . If this was back.in JD time he’d be a red shirt freshman who’d never see the court .It’s always going to be the excuse used for him. He will be a senior and people will say “remember, he’s only 20!”
Put him up against those guys and he’d look like Micheal Jordon .Lamar, I saw potential in, not NBA potential but typical Jamie upperclass starter potential. Brad, I didn't see that in but he was on elite teams. Jeffress looks like a walk-on out there. Looks like you could have a tryout of Pitt students 6'5 and taller, throw them out on the court and they'd be able to do what he does....catch the ball and pass it. He has no offensive skills to speak of. I don't understand how he could be so badly overrated.
I think Gueye has ran circles around Jeffress so if you are saying he has been a disaster so far here, what's that say about Will?He is bad on the perimeter. He cant shoot and make the 3. The staff has given him the green light all year and he hasn't made a single 3 ball. Not one. Wow didn't know you have cancer. I'm sorry to hear that Drew. I hope it becomes cancer free very soon.I'm 40 with cancer and i can beat him in any shooting or dribbling contest.
Thanks man.Wow didn't know you have cancer. I'm sorry to hear that Drew. I hope it becomes cancer free very soon.
They’re both awfulI think Gueye has ran circles around Jeffress so if you are saying he has been a disaster so far here, what's that say about Will?
Yes, but hasn’t he been practicing against other Pitt players? He has been coached, playing and practicing against college level players now for 18 months. The age things starts to become irrelevant
