Willie Taggert to Oregon

This guy?

Interesting hire for sure, I am surprised. But he is a motivator, will be a good recruiter for them, and bring Florida kids.

Interesting in the article Captain linked that James Franklin was up for the job at Oregon possibly! Phil Knight will hire whoever he wanted that is for sure.

Charlie Strong to USF or does he sit out a year?
oh man, you'd think he'd be a P5 candidate.. USF? he could do better.. That would be a great hire for them though. I'd like to see him in the ACC, in other division though. I wonder if pedophile enabler Schiano is looking to get back into a HC job.

Taggert is a terrific coach his teams get better each year and they are physical he has west coast ties so he should do well. I was surprised that Ruhle turned Oregon down the situation must be worse than we think. Fleck told schools upfront I'm coaching my team in the cotton bowl so schools backed off. Schiano seems to be the man for USF and I would expect Moorhead to get the nod at temple but rumor has it Golden may want to return. I can't see any college coaches leaving for the NFL this year maybe Kelly but I'm hearing it's less likely he gets an NFL interview.

Rhule was their target. So what you said is obviously already wrong from "GO".

Franklin wasn't on their radar because it literally would make no sense for anyone, especially Franklin.

Baylor swooped in and blew Rhule away. Oregon went with option #3.

Something is wrong with Fleck.

This one is confusing me. It seems like he played his hand too strong almost. I mean if nothing was worth jumping he must have confidence that he will be able to continue his current success and do this again next year with some other bigtime opportunities. Purdue doesn't seem attractive at all but I really thought that Oregon was looking like his landing spot. Now seems like they had Rhule and Taggart graded above him.

Doubt there is a chance in hell that he takes the Cincy job.

was just getting to post something on this. i'm wondering the same thing. if my memory is correct, about 2 or 3 years ago he got into some trouble at WMU. i think he slept with a big time WMU boosters wife...or something like this.

either way, something seems to be going on.

with strong, everyone is pointing out the obvious fit with USF, maybe so maybe not. It could have something to do with his Texas contract buyout. He might lose out on a lot of money if he takes another job right away. Maybe he sits out a year or goes somewhere as a top DC and then revisits the coaching thing a year from now. one thing is for sure, he would absolutely kill florida recruiting, one of if not the best florida recruiter in the nation.

I don't Fleck is too concerned with the carousel. Have a good Cotton Bowl showing and then back up this year with another good season and with the big names gone from this year, he will be the top choice for a lot of job openings, like Notre Dame.

Fleck reminds me of a young Todd Graham. Man, can that dude talk.

He seems seriously coked up. He is a good speaker for the most part but the guy goes off on rants at the drop of a hat. Maybe programs are scared a little of his sketchy past along with the fact that he has the loose cannon quality nailed.

Well... I certainly appreciate you loving Pitt enough to come on our forum and incorrectly say something. But... I was REFERRING TO THE ARTICLE

IN THE ARTICLE, it says Franklin was a target, or on their radar, or whatever gay way you want to say it. And although, I admit, it would make no sense for ANYONE to want such a lame, idiotic coach as James Franklin, the article does point out he was a possible target.

I am sure at the end of the day, they came to their senses, and thought why get some manager at a ridiculous price instead of getting a good strategist like Rhule a bit cheaper.

I am coming to a Pitt message board because both schools are located in the same state. Even Temple is. Your posts are amazingly incoherent. You have a conscious stream of thought thing going on without any thought. I was literally discussing things that are relevant to both schools(us and Temple), whether you believe Temple deserves the discussion. You just go nuts and make things up.

I am sorry you cannot understand the simple fact I pointed out in that article they mentioned James Franklin as a candidate for the Oregon job, to which, for some god knows what reason you denied and said I was wrong.

How is anything I said incoherent? Please point it out. I mean, you saying you are on our forum because Temple and Pitt are in the same state that is rather incoherent dont you think?

You said I was wrong for literally pointing out something in print, then say I made up stuff?? Read the article before you go off on stupid rants.

The incoherent part was you kept going to different things that were not even related mid paragraph. That was rude to say, sorry.

How though does someone become a candidate because someone is interested in them? It sounds like the logic that Rutgers fans use when saying that Narduzzi was a candidate there. James Franklin had no interest in ever speaking to Oregon. He wasn't a candidate or possible candidate. He was on their list.

Personally think Fleck will do what Herman did last year. Coach another year and wait for a better P5 opening since he didn't get Oregon.

He is a Nitter. Comprehension and reality are not 2 of their strong suits.

I wasn't the one making someone a "candidate" because someone else was interested. I guess everyone is a candidate to go out with Olivia Culpo if that is how comprehension works.

Exactly. Why not stay put and wait for a job you really want?

Flecks young and is the king at W Michigan, he's waiting for his opportunity at his choosing
Just not sure what more Fleck can do. He loses his great starting qb, 1st round NFL pick receiver, and best defensive player.

If I were him I would go to Cincy. Last 3 coaches parlayed the Cinci job into ND, Tenessee, and MSU.

And the one that just got fired and is leaving a bare cupboard. Actually, just kidding because I see your point. It's not the same job now that it was though. They have been sort of placed in the corner of college football now. It's getting close to a no win situation there.
