Was watching the game yesterday with a buddy who's a mid-90s Gerogetown alum. At one point he shook his head and commented "Pitt playing Syracuse in the ACC tournament. F that!"
And I'd say to your buddy, Georgetown finishes the year 15-17? What the F's up with THAT??!!
JT3 is godawful and his father still holds enough pull to keep his job safe. I think that goodwill runs out within 2-3 years.
Funny....I was cleaning out a desk drawer last night....found a list of the entries in our old BE fantasy team rosters. 2010, I think I finished I low in all of those, always swung for the fences with 'breakout: candidates. I'll always miss the Big East. I still follow and root for all those teams, except for Villanova, that are now scatterred throughout college basketball. Providence is actually my second favorite team for some reason. I still don't know who our most likely ACC rivals are outside of the other recent Big East transplants.
ND/Cuse & Ville give us enough adrenaline. And everyone hates Duke. That'll change when K retires to a tropical island owned by Vitale.
We had some really tough, hard nose teams that won 25+ games per season while in the BE. If we get that toughness and winning back, we will like the ACC just fine!
Simple--JT3 has been there about 10 years too many. He's terrible, but his daddy still draws a lot of water at that school.
Let's be honest--Pitt playing in the ACC basketball tournament in DC or Greensboro versus Pitt playing in the BE basketball tournament at MSG--it just doesn't feel right.
No question we had to get out of the BE and the ACC was the best option we had, but that doesn't make it the "natural fit" that a lot of Lair posters have convinced themselves it is--very likely many of the same posters who would have been bashing the ACC before the news broke that Pitt was joining it. Pollyannas.

Agree with you here. No clue why gt would consider firing jt3 at this point.

Sadly....he seems like a decent guy. His teams aren't thugs, like some of his Daddy's.
