Currently, approaching 200,000 deaths due to Covid 19.

Projecting 410,00 deaths by end of year due to Covid 19.

Stay Safe.

HAIL TO PITT!!!!

I think you're all wrong there. If/when your son expresses an interest in or is naturally good at something - be it sports or whatever, as a parent you WILL nurture it and that includes being there if appropriate to show your support.. That is not being a helicopter parent.
Of course the poster you’re addressing is wrong. He’s never right. Ever.

According to The Fan, the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals has reversed the District Court as to staying the District Court's ruling pending appeal. The Upshot is the State can place restrictions until the 3rd Circuit rules on the appeal on the merits.

Jagoff move by Wolf. It's Thursday and that's a problem because schools already sold tickets and now have the potential headache of dealing with refunds. Schools are having Homecoming and Senior Night events and have to deal with the restrictions again just over 24 hours before the game. Plans have to change and tomorrow he can change them again? They shouldn't be working on it as we speak, they should have worked on it for the past few weeks in anticipation of this ruling.

Exactly. They took advantage of the uncertainty when the federal judge ruled against Wolf. Purposely did not come out and clarify what was/was not permissible.

Now he has all the power back so who knows what or when he'll decide.

Maybe, but that would have possibly required putting some logical, rational thought and some work into this. And if we've seen anything so far it's that that's been in seriously short supply.

Or waiting to see if it was necessary due to courts ?

So do you wait to start planning for things until you know for certain they are going to happen? I'm guessing that means you don't believe in insurance, because why worry about paying to fix your car if you are in an accident until you've actually been in one? And of course no need to put any money aside for retirement, because after all you may die before you get to collect any money, so might as well wait to see if it's necessary.

I mean seriously, your excuse for them is that there is no sense in planning for things until it's absolutely necessary? Man, that would be one hell of a way to govern.

Although to be fair, you may be exactly right that that's what those idiots did.

hey - I don’t disagree
As I’ve suggested :
Positivity rate below 3% for 3 consecutive weeks - things can reopen
Positivity rate between 3-5-% for 3 consecutive weeks - bars and restaurants close - no large gatherings
Positivity rate above 5% full shut down for non-essential services
Positivity 10% or above - full shelter in place
Clock resets for anytime a threshold is exceeedes
County by county
Masks are required in all public places , including outside .

how effin hard is that from a national or state level

Yeah, you can argue about the specific numbers, but it should be something as simple as that.

Which is why I had an issue with the metrics PA put out in the beginning with the red, yellow, green stuff. They put out a bunch of metrics and then literally from day one ignored their own numbers that they came up with when they decided that the numbers didn't suit what they wanted to do.

Determine your metrics. Tell everyone what those metrics are. Hold people to that standard. Shouldn't be that difficult.

I mean - mine is very conservative -
But it’s better to tell people the thresholds ,because businesses can see the trends and prepare

But you understand what the real issue is here? You can set your metrics, guidelines to whatever, but when you diverge from them with no explanation, it loses all credibility.

You can't allow 20K people to gather months ago over a 4 day period and then unilaterally decide, never mind, no fans in stands for football.

Or how about it's ok to have 4K people INSIDE a casino but not 4K OUTSIDE in a stadium that is literally steps away.

It's totally random and illogical. And depending on the 3rd Circuit quite possibly unconstitutional.

I understand
Which is why I won’t deny that
But ya have to understand no state has clear and consistent guidelines
Pa isn’t unique

I don't really care about any of the other states?

I've been pretty consistent since this all started giving leeway to those making decisions at the state and federal levels. This was unprecedented. But we are now 6 months in and being given arbitrary restrictions from the Governor honestly rankles me. Especially very large decisions like no fans at sporting events when the administration clearly has allowed indoor activities to commence. I know this is complicated and no one is perfect, but allowing fans at auto shows, car races, casino's etc. is diametrically opposite of the sporting event decision.

PA and all the states frankly have the means (and now the time) to have come up with clear and consistent guidelines. Each state and their needs are very unique - for example North Dakota could certainly paint a different picture than Florida, so I support the lack of federal, over arching restrictions.

And again there has to be a bit of space given some of the guidance because it's complicated, but these big restrictions that don't match up are frustrating at best.
