It's kinda hard to come
back when you're down
20 at the half.
Once again this was the
third non cupcake for
the team, and we see
the results.

I'm gonna repeat what
I've been posting....we're
actually playing Bball like
we know what we're
doing. The problem is
the talent gap is really
wide. The Illini women
hit threes like our men
did the other night. They
not only had more
talent, they were quicker.
Quicker in all aspects,
inside, outside, defensively
and offensively. They ran
a clinic on how to go
inside and then out to the
wing/corner for an open
shot.... which they hit.

Coach is playing a lot of
players, some of them
have similar talent. I
feel our best player is
forward, King. I'd keep
her on the floor as much
as possible. Again, this is
what we're gonna see
when the ACC starts.

Agree on the talent gap - it was obvious and it was wide. And Illinois really moved the ball well. The whole first half they had open shots and we had contested shots.

When I saw one of their players spinning a basketball on her finger before the game, I figured she would be trouble - and she was.

Sadly, a Pitt player would not crack the top six or seven players on Illinois. And Illinois is no big deal in their league…

Go Pitt.

I agree with what you
said about Illinois and
the Big 10. Like Maryland
they give us a glimpse as
to what we're going to
see in ACC play. UVA, ND,
Louisville and others are
downright scarey.

The sad part about this all is Illinois was 7-20 last year (1-13 in B10) with a new head coach that was the head coach at Dayton. She seems to be making more progress than Coach White.

Illinois’ coach actually did Dayton dirty. She was an alumnis of Dayton left and took all her good recruits to Illinois. Dayton had a very successful women’s program. They are now 0-7 and just cancelled two games of a Las Vegas tournament. The cancellation doesn’t appear to be Covid related.
