I was browsing womens basketball on ESPN and found out that Pitt has a verbal from a player named Jasmine Whitney, for 2016. Can anyone gveme more information on her as theirs is limited.

Nice find oldpantherfan. Interesting that this recruit is another point guard.

Pitt has 10 scholarship players right now. Three will graduate and 5 freshmen are coming in. So the roster will be at 12 next season. No one is scheduled to use up their eligibility after next season. So the women could add up to 3 players in the next recruiting class (although in the recent past, Pitt has never used the full allotment of 15 scholarships).

So the first player in the next class would be Jasmine Whitney. The second could be Naje Gibson, if she finishes Junior college and still comes to Pitt.

Pitt may stop there, but they really could use a 6-3 or 6-4 type post player.

A taller point guard (5-8/5-9) than in the past (5-5/5-6). The UConn's, N.D.'s Tennessee's Duke's etc. of women's hoops usually have more height so this is a good trend. Most smaller points won't be as effective as Bri Kiesel has been. We do need more height at all positions including the point to compete more effectively in future years.

Ideal minimum position heights (men vs women comparison):

Men:

C = 6-10+
PF = 6-8+
WF = 6-6+
2G = 6-4+
PG = 6-1+

Women:

C= 6-4+
PF = 6-3+
WF = 6-2+
2G = 6-0+
PG = 5-8+
