Norwin's Alayna Gribble, who had been a William and Mary verbal, was offered a scholarship by Pitt this week and she accepted. She is a junior who was first team all state this past season when she led Norwin to the WPIAL AAAA championship. Averaged 19 and 7 per game this season and is already over 1200 points for her high school career.

I saw that also Susie is really doing well. She could build a top ten team just from the Pittsburgh area

Yep. I never understood why they couldn't get it done. This area produces a lot of good talent. And it won't be long IMO until SMS, who is quite accomplished, will be able to pull recruits from all over. If she comes calling I would think a lot of girls are gonna at least listen.

I watched some film on her. It was impressive. She seems to have a total game at an early age. By that I mean that I saw her: making post moves; hitting some threes; hitting a step- back jumper; not only driving to the hoop, but scoring with her left hand; rebounding; and blocking shots. That's a lot of game for a HS Junior.

Pitt still needs to sign a 6-4 post player - that's the only piece of the puzzle missing as you look down the road.

Go Pitt.

Alayna is from our school district and a very talented player, nice pick up.

GO NORWIN KNIGHTS !!

GO PITT !!

Majors, I've seen her play a few times (and that doesn't count seeing her when she was in about 6th grade). No doubt about it, she can play. I was at the PIAA doubleheader at Hempfield where Seton LaSalle played first and Norwin played second and I thought then that if Cassidy Walsh could play for Pitt then Gribble certainly could as well.

Major, question on an ex-WPIAL woman BB player. Have you seen Krysta Pietrapola from Plum HS now at Youngstown State play ? She did play against PITT this past season. The reason I bring her up, she may be leaving YSU.
Plum also has a tall center that is pretty good, her last name is Zezza.

Chains - not familiar with Krysta or Ms. Zezza. I don't think anyone graduates from next year's Pitt team - and only Gordon will be a senior. So not much room on the roster with Pitt bringing in 5 freshman this year - and they already have 2 commits for the following class - plus, Naje Gibson may come back in that class if she graduates from Junior College. So 6 current players + 5 freshmen in 2015 class + 2 freshmen in 2016 class + Naje Gibson minus Brittany Gordon would give them 13 scholarship players for the season after next. NCAA rules allow the women's teams to have 15 on scholarship, but Pitt has never gotten close to that number - maybe they let Suzie bring in another post player if she can land a good one.

There is a 6-9 post player -- Felicia Aiyeotan -- who plays at St. John Neuman's in Philly -- she'd look good at Pitt.

BTW, Brianna Kiesel threw out the first pitch at the Pirate game today. Cool.

Go Pitt.

Major, Krysta has the scoring title at Plum, 5'11" guard, she's related and they are keeping a possible transfer close to the vest.

Would be great if Felicia were to make her way to PITT, and hopefully Bubbles knee is rehabbing nicely, I first met her at the ACC welcoming party, entertaining young lady, I'm 6'3" and I felt tiny.

Brianna, what a fine young woman, she will certainly be missed.

Thanks for the reply.
