Would a buyout really be as high as people are saying?

I'm not advocating for one although I might be at the end of next year if things don't go well. But people have been adding up the remaining years of Jamie's salary without considering one factor. If Pitt let Jamie go, he will almost certainly be hired somewhere else. Perhaps, Stanford or TCU. His salary at his new job would offset what Pitt owes him, would it not? Maybe this is not technically a buyout but I think the cost of Jamie being asked to leave would be nothing compared to the difficulty in finding a better coach to replace him.
