Would you be happy with Dixon’s TCU results from Pitt?

Top programs generally keep their coaches. They are not firing them or forcing them out,
And when a mediocre program is doing exactly that -
You don’t hire that coach .
Because he’s damaged goods and a burnout.
Which is why he’s still not coaching 4 years later

I said I would not have hired Stallings.

When I applauded the Capel hire, I included “age appropriate” in my reasons for thinking it could be a good hire.

I raised the same concern about age when the name Beilein has popped up recently.

Are you talking about Pitt or TCU?
I think the not coaching 4 years later provides the identification?

Based on what the Pitt fan base has accepted as the definition of mediocre, the last sentence was necessary. (Plenty of talk about both Stallings pre Pitt record and the Narduzzi Pitt record being mediocre).

I actually do think it had something to do with it. Stallings's wife didn't move to Pittsburgh and it was rumored that she was irate after that presser. I am not sure Stallings gave 100% after that. May have had the mentality of "these idiot fans dont deserve me, I'll take my bag of gold and be outta here in a few years."
His profession is coaching , he wanted to win every game his team played , even at Pitt .

His wife not wanting to move might just mean that they just weren’t getting along . Most men married that long might not deem that as a total negative !

The man made millions of dollars for many yrs thinking that he just took the job to pad his bank account seems silly to me . He wanted to win , he came to a program with some talent in it that played in a better conference with easier academic standards . It just wasn’t a good fit from day 1 .

I only care about Pitt
Unlike you with a former vandy coach fetish

Pitt replaced a declining burnout with another burnout that was about to be pushed out at mediocre program, and tried to right the ship with a guy that had been on a 7 year head coaching hiatus after being fired after 5 years at OU forlosing as well as recruiting violations.

You can't make this shit up.

Still a better hire than the unemployable stallings

My point was a Stallings hire would have been better accepted anywhere else.

Fans would have not been happy, but most would have fallen in line and given him a chance.
that is what I did with the terrible Mike Haywood hire. That is what I have always done for any Pitt hire in any sport.

You did give him a chance. In general, you seem a lot more tolerant and forgiving than most fans.
You are absolutely delusional. Could you imagine if Boeheim retires this year and they hired Brad Brownell?

YOu are SUCH A FREAKING CLOWN.
