Why is this even a topic? The game that isn't on the local ABC station is shown on ESPN2. It's not 1991 anymore.
Pitt isn't a big land grant school. No way they belong in the Big 10.No shit Pittsburgh is a B10 market. It's where Pitt belongs. ACC football will never be looked at as an equivalent to the B10 from the Pittsburgh eye.
The TV markets immediately to the West (Youngstown) and East (Johnstown/Altoona/State College) are Big Ten markets so as far as ABC is concerned, yes Pittsburgh is in the Big Ten footprint.Because ABC and WTAE view Pittsburgh as a Big Ten Market, not an ACC one. I have an issue with that. The local team is in the ACC, not the Big Ten.

The Pittsburgh market has never identified with the B10. Pittsburgh is considered an Eastern City, not Midwestern. Not saying it identifies with the ACC but certainly not the B10.No shit Pittsburgh is a B10 market. It's where Pitt belongs. You are absolutely correct. So ABC and WTAE are showing a crappy Big Ten game over an important Coastal Division game because Pittsburgh is between Central PA and Eastern Ohio? Why not put on whatever game is of the most interest to the people who will actually watch?
Thank you!The Pittsburgh market has never identified with the B10. Pittsburgh is considered an Eastern City, not Midwestern. Not saying it identifies with the ACC but certainly not the B10.
It's possible SMF is an antenna salesman. He's all about over-the-air games. So just burn the 10 calories it takes to push the clicker to ESPN2....man...
Not sure why but I freakin LMAO at thisSo just burn the 10 calories it takes to push the clicker to ESPN2....man...
Living in Miami when UM joined the ACC, it was the same thing. The local ABC would show Michigan State v Purdue over UVA v UNC, which would be on ESPN2. That was gone after about 5 years. You won't see those Big Ten games trump ACC today anywhere in Florida.at 3:30.
Pittsburgh is definitely known as a Big Ten market.
UNC/Miami will be on ESPN2 locally.
