We beat them when they had a full squad. Kansas couldn't even beat them with two of their best players sitting out.

Good outcome for Pitt but I can't say I'm rooting for WVU anymore. Devries has to be national coach of the year. I know it was early but they looked so bad against us. I mean I figured the coach's kid would be a legit B12 player and also Small, who was 3rd team all-B12 at Okie St, but in my opinion, those were the only P5 level starters they had. The other guys just werent very good. If you would have told me after the Pitt game that that team, WITHOUT Tucker Devries would go into Lawrence and win, there's no way I could believe that. At that time, I said WVU could possibly go 2-16 in the B12. That's how bad I thought they were. And here they are pushing for a protected seed.

So WVU missed shots and sometimes that happens. But anyone who knows basketball, like me, can look at the individual players and kind of make a determination if this team was any good. Although no one played well, I gave Small and Devries the benefit of the doubt as legit places. The Harris kid was so bad at Illinois that they redshirted him simply because he wasn't going to be in the rotation. The Big guys, Hansberry and Andre looked like below average P5 bigs. The Okani kid from UIC looked like a below average P5 player. So I saw a team with 2 P5 players. And I'm not even sure I was wrong about any of them. No idea how they are winning. Incredible job by Devries. This is a guy that an ACC team needs to hire away. Its inconceivable that you have places like Syracuse sucking with an assistant coach hire but WVU hires the Drake coach and is going to the NCAAT in Year 1.

West Virginia is 10-2 with their only 2 losses to Pitt and Louisville, making them 0-2 vs the ACC and 1-2 vs the OBE (they beat Georgetown).
