WVU in our immediate future?

Cc got taken care of again being in Brooklyn and then Philly. I've been saying this for years that every time cc gets in the tourney it's always a close travel. Last year Cleveland, 3 years ago n PITTSBURGH. F Jerry west

Heck, Louisville didn't even really press us in the second game this year.
Both are good defensive teams, maybe Louisville is a little better in the half court, but the Hoopies press is better than Louisville's press this year. I can't see how anyone could disagree with that.
I just think that the Big 12 is overrated.....IMO and no I'm not just saying it since cc is in that conference. Fla exposed them....
I wouldn't call our guards garbage but I get your point and agree with it. But its not just the guards that WVU turns over. It's ANYONE who handles the ball. Pitt's my team but if we do get this far, this is a VERY BAD matchup for us.
WVU commits multiple fouls on every defensive possession. It's like the old John Thompson GT teams. They figure the refs can't/won't call them all.
They are a poor shooting team, but rebound well. Devin Williams can be very good when he's on his game.

First, the chances of Pitt getting out of this weekend have got to hover around 1% (meaning we have a chance 
). Second, I believe we would lose to WVU. Third, there is no reason WVU shouldn't have been placed in Brooklyn as a 3 seed. Now the year they played Gonzaga in Consol as a 10? seed, THAT was a head scratcher. Fourth, WVU actually got stuck with one of the more under seeded teams in Stephen F. Austin. I think I read they haven't lost a game since November? Not sure the quality of their opponents, but without looking my guess is they are a senior or upperclassmen laden team with a good coach.

Maybe if their barbaric fans didn't throw nickels, etc and chant suck my Dixon then PITT may have agreed to play them. But some posters will say we are wimps and should be tougher. Safety isn't a problem for me, it's about the older and children who are PITT fans that get the brunt. It's a renegade program with Neanderthal behaviors, f cc.
This WVU team LOVES to play defense and pressure teams. That creates turnovers and points off of turnovers. That's the only difference between WVU and Pitt. Pitt doesn't like to play defense and only will when forced to. Both teams have relatively equal talent. If somehow Pitt had played defense like we have in the past, I think we would have had at least 4 more wins this year. If we played them this year and played defense like we have during most of the ACC games, we'd lose. It pains me to say that, but I think it would be unavoidable.
As for their fans, they are garbage as a group. Some are decent fans and good to be around. But most are just gutter trash.

IDK, a team can't play as tough defense if the refs have quick whistles in the tourney. IMO that's why PITT couldn't play their tenacious defense during the Blair, Young and Fields era in the tourney. It's how the game is called........
We heard that last year, but WVU still made a pretty decent run to the Sweet Sixteen by beating a Buffalo team that was the "upset special" pick of the first round, and then taking it to Maryland in the Round of 32. We return all of those guys, short of Juwan Staten.
And, keep in mind that this WVU team is very, very deep. It's tough for WVU to get into foul trouble, really.
That's why I said this WVU team and this Pitt team are relatively equal in terms of talent and, as you said correctly, depth. One of Pitt's strengths is their bench. But we just don't play defense very well and you guys play it very well. That's the difference between a 3 seed and a 10 seed.
