Good game, but WVU taking control in the 3rd OT and about to deal Dixon a bad loss on the resume.
They very well could close out the year going 1-3 or 1-4 (including Big 12 tourney). That would put them squarely on the bubble. They’ve had a couple awful losses recently.I think they’re still good to get in. The bubble is incredibly weak this year (I know, we say that every year), and the 2 Iowa St wins were huge.
I think TCU still needs one more win though, and the closing schedule is really tough.

TCU sucks.... going nowhere.I think they’re still good to get in. The bubble is incredibly weak this year (I know, we say that every year), and the 2 Iowa St wins were huge.

Why doesn't anyone ever post Texas Tech results on here? They are another B12 team, you know, since there is such great interest in that league in Western PA.Thanks for the update .
You’re welcome, chemist...your boy’s a bum...I see you’re struggling with your fantasy BB world going up in flames. Thanks for the update .
This is the most talent assembled on a roster that Dixon has coached in his life.I think they’re still good to get in. The bubble is incredibly weak this year (I know, we say that every year), and the 2 Iowa St wins were huge.

There is actually a thread on Chris Beard. Go figure. Why doesn't anyone ever post Texas Tech results on here? They are another B12 team, you know, since there is such great interest in that league in Western PA.

Blair, Fields, Young, Wanamaker, Gibbs "not pleased."
Then you’ll be more than thrilled if JC stays here long enough he will bring in enough good players to be at level above Dixon ll . Dixon l is asking too much .
I've always been a Jamie Dixon fan but this TCU team shouldn't get into the tournament at the moment. They just lost to a 10-17 Wvu team and the kicker is Wvu was down 4 starter. This was a bad loss for Jamie.I'd say his only chance is win his last 3 and win one in the Big 12 tournament.
Gil brown too who I think as far as far as raw athletic talent was one of the most talented.
Right. These rosters are equal. Bane, Robinson and Noi will be pros.Blair, Fields, Young, Wanamaker, Gibbs "not pleased."

Not even close. Go back and watch some games and remind yourself just how offensively gifted Sam Young was and what a dominant rebounder and post player Blair was. And while Levance wasn’t a great shooter, he could get drive the lane anytime he wanted and no one in college basketball that year could control a possession like Fields.Right. These rosters are equal. Bane, Robinson and Noi will be pros.
I have no idea how these guys from TCU will do after college, but our 2009 Pitt squad would easily beat their current team.Right. These rosters are equal. Bane, Robinson and Noi will be pros.
Agree wholeheartedly ..this team is thin that he has rn. Talented yes.I have no idea how these guys from TCU will do after college, but our 2009 Pitt squad would easily beat their current team.
Only difference is he took over the worst p5 program at the time. They were awful. So bubble in 2.5 years is pretty good considering. I can see them missing or making this year, but long term I bet TCU sees itself in the upper half of b12.So Jamie is now 1-1 in 3OT games vs WVU. This is a really terrible loss for TCU. Their NET was solid at 41 going in and I woudnt expect it to fall too much but they finish with home games vs TT and KST and a road game at Texas. Win 2 if those 3 to finish at 8-10 and they are in. Lose 2 of 3 to finish at 7-11 they are out unless they make the titlw game in the B12 Tournament.
What's amazing about Jamie is he hasnt finished above .500 in conference since 2013-14. He is doing a great job at TCU but I think what we are seeing at TCU is more like Dixon II here. Inotherwords, a bubble program. That is great for TCU and should be good enough for Pitt. If Capel gets us back to Dixon II, Id be thrilled.
Hell, I think our last average team before Dixon left would beat this TCU team.I have no idea how these guys from TCU will do after college, but our 2009 Pitt squad would easily beat their current team.

I agree with you. The talent would be similar to what Stallings took over his first year here. Dixon is just a better coach than Stallings. They were not. People saying it over and over again won't make it true either.
Oh ok...so them or rutgers? Tell me , who was worse . They won 4 big 12 games in 4 yearsThey were not. People saying it over and over again won't make it true either.
Dixon left a sinking program and joined a rising program. I think you can state it as simply as that.Oh ok...so them or rutgers? Tell me , who was worse . They won 4 big 12 games in 4 years

I try to avoid these Dixon threads, I really do, but nobody said TCU was a rising program in February 2016.
It's all good. Pretty meaningless debate.I try to avoid these Dixon threads, I really do, but nobody said TCU was a rising program in February 2016.
If wins are all that matters then wtf are you arguing? Dumb take. He isnt setting it on fire this year for sure: but next year he will have senior bane and junior noi along with an improving center and good talent coming in.It's all good. Pretty meaningless debate.
I think a program that had just invested $80M into upgrading their basketball arena and then was willing to invest big money in a Head Coach and staff would be my definition of 'up-and-coming'. They had two high-grade incoming transfers sitting on the bench Trent Johnson's last year as well. I think it was a similar situation to when Pitt opened the Pete.
Was TCU up-and-coming from a W/L perspective the preceding few years? Absolutely not - can't argue that.
