How are they defensively? My hope is that our shooters recover their touch after two games facing very intense D. We are well overdue for a breakout shooting game like we had several of during conference play.
They are completely different than our first two opponents. They are 9th in offensive efficiency on Pomeroy but 72nd on defense. They also play reasonable fast. They are one of the best in the country shooting threes, and they are also good at shooing twos. Defensively they give up a pretty high percentage on threes.
So rather than a rock fight, expect something like 90-88.

We were very close to playing Kennesaw State.
If the refs had any integrity, wewouldbe!
I agree. That game was Kennesaw's and the refs gave it to Xavier.
To be fair Kennesaw gave it away in the last 10 minutes. The refs just sealed it.
I’m glad Xavier won. We have an opportunity to get revenge against the team (and school) that bumped us from the tournament in 2010. I hope Gilbert Brown, Brian Regan, and anyone else still around from that team hammers that point home the next 48 hours.
How did the refs do that. Kennesaw state coach can whine all he wants but that was no foul at the end.I agree. That game was Kennesaw's and the refs gave it to Xavier.
Yeah, Kennesaw all but had that game won until they went scoreless for like 5-7 minutes in the 2nd half. Talk about a good demo on how to quickly lose a 11-13 pt lead.We were very close to playing Kennesaw State.

I pity Xavier if Pitt breaks out of their scoring slump and decides to lay 80 on them. Pitt is due.

And yeah, refs could/should have easily called a foul on that last Kennesaw drive to the basket, either during the drive or the scramble for the rebound. Excuse for not calling it on the rebound scramble was no one had possession. I can half agree with that.
But bottom line, Kennesaw can really only blame themselves for going completely cold and not scoring for 5+ minutes with a double digit lead.
Let’s just hope they’re off their game on Sunday and we’re on ours.Well, Xavier is overseeded also.

There were 2 fouls at the end. Burden was fouled on the drive before the shot and the rebounder was hacked to get the ball knocked away. Now, those same plays may have happened all game without being callled. That would make the end consistent. But they were definitely fouls, technically. How did the refs do that. I think we score 90.There is a pretty good chance that 80 is not going to be enough. They have won eight games already this year when their opponent scored 80 or more. and two more when they scored 79.
I think we score 90.
AgreeWe could. Like I said in my first post in this thread, expect something like 90-88.
I'm pretty happy that we were able to win while Hinson and Burton didn't play well. Need them both to turn it up on Sunday.Yeah that was my thought. We need to have a few shooters get hot in that one. Blake I’d due for a big game.
Also may be another chance to play long and fast with the twins in there. They are good at getting out and contesting 3s.
Yea 2009 In the Sweet 16 beat Xavier to advance to the Elite 8 where the Scotty Reynolds game happened. Great chance for payback Sunday for 2010 as well.Has Pitt ever played against Sean Miller ? Im drawing a blank.
Thank you sir. Appreciate the answer.Yea 2009 In the Sweet 16 beat Xavier to advance to the Elite 8 where the Scotty Reynolds game happened. Great chance for payback Sunday for 2010 as well.
Yea need more 3 balls from both Hinson and Elliott as well moving forward if Pitt is gonna keep advancing. They have to be better against Xavier and beyond if Pitt hopes to advance and move on to the Sweet 16.I'm pretty happy that we were able to win while Hinson and Burton didn't play well. Need them both to turn it up on Sunday.
Hinson looked tired. His shots had even less arc than usual. Probably good he sat more than usual.
You can't follow-up that question without the video. You can thank me later. OnionsThank you sir. Appreciate the answer.
Maybe we should have been the 6 and ISU the 11?That's why they were the 14 seed. And why ISU should have been a 12 -14 seed also. Certainly not close to a 6 seed.

But the Greensboro rims are messed up.We could. Like I said in my first post in this thread, expect something like 90-88.

They won’t beat Xavier without a good game from Hinson. He’s due - H2P!I'm pretty happy that we were able to win while Hinson and Burton didn't play well. Need them both to turn it up on Sunday.
