YES!!! Best win of the Capel era!!!

I believe in Capel! You guys can bitch and moan about all the coaches that are better and who have ressurrected programs quicker. I will stick with Capel and give him a chance to produce. He has been good early before, If I am right, this team is going to get better as the season goes and that should be pretty damn exciting!

Unbelievable guts and heart and what a comeback! I am so effing proud of this team!

I totally agree! Anyone who says Capel can't get his
team up for a game is nuts. During his first year
he got his guys up and any ACC win was an upset.
Same thing last year. His players PLAY for him.
This was all hustle, grit, work ethic, etc. etc.

Oh yeah, X played the whole second half after
missing most of the first half due to fouls.
Where have we seen that before?.....LOL

Well I ain't one of those "guys." Like I said above,
he gets his guys motivated to play for him. The NW
game and today's game took a huge degree of effort
to come back from so far down (18 pts today). He
did this against the C'use who had all of their players
available.
They had the talent, we had the grit. That "grit"
doesn't happen by accident. Great job, Coach!

He's slowly built the roster with players that have the mentality that he wants. Team is tough and plays hard.

They need to break out and win some games to help land the guys who can push it to the next level.

Wow, I finished working around 6:00 and said oh yeah there’s a Pitt game on now. Sometimes you make the right call at the right time!! Holy cow that was amazing!!!! Congrats to the players, especially Brown - couldn’t have been easy for him to be sitting all season - and congrats to the coaches!!! Really terrific! H2P!!!!!

This is one of those games that would have been a blast out at a bar with a bunch of people watching.

Dang COVID.

Hail to PITT
Would have been the perfect afternoon to bail out of work an hour early and settle in somewhere downtown for happy hour. Alas!

This was without a doubt, a great win and one that this team can build off of. What an exciting late 2nd half push by this team.

I have been critical of Capel only because I think he is capable of so much. He is not a guy you hire to achieve 5-15 seasons.
2 things.

1) I see a much better coached team this year. So much better. I think they have recruited some players with some higher BB IQ's But they are getting it. And they don't quit.

2) My biggest complaint is I thought we would recruit better. But seeing things with Oscar from WVU and all of these recruiting violations, I am now realizing even if some of these kids would want to come play for Capel (hi Jalen Hood Schifino looking at you) there are just too many factors steering them to "branded" schools.

There’s nothing more I love in hoops than beating Syracuse. And it just happened to be one of those days where it was worth throwing a little on the Pitt money line because they were such big underdogs. There’s been quite a few undermanned teams surprising people this season, but from down 18 with 4 minutes left in the first half... outscored ‘Cuse 51-30 over the final 24 minutes. Unbelievable comeback... and couldn’t be happier for Terrell Brown, showed up big in the clutch today (as did X and Toney obviously!)

Huge win. Valuable experience gained by the new guys. Upperclassmen cake through enormously in the end. With their full complement of guys, consistent effort on the glass and D this team might be pretty good by year end.

The conference road win is the more important factor
Is there really a huge disadvantage playing on the road right now? I guess the travel etc., but really with no fans, it's almost like both teams have to generate their own mojo.

Jeff Sagarin is still applying 1.99 points to the home team in his ratings. Howver, I think this has typically applied 3 points in past seasons.

I don't know - just watching random games, I've noticed "home" teams getting down and not having the crowd to help overcome it. I think it really puts both teams on an equal playing field in that regards.

I guess @SoufOaklin4Life you're right - the sight lines on home courts along with no travel, regular routines, etc., still gives the home team an advantage, just not nearly the same as with a full house though.

I agree it's not the same, but playing in that cavern at Cuse usually causes some issues until you get used to the site lines. I thought it was overrated until I spoke with a few people who played at the Dome and they said it's definitely an adjustment. We had 3 players playing their first game there and 2 playing their second. Plus, they had one practice to prepare for the zone, let alone trying to figure out how to manage the court.
