People who pick a bandwagon team to root for are some of the worst people there are. Says a lot about someone's character to just pick a random elite team that you have no connection to to root for.
Then they change into their Notre Dame shirts in the Fall 😂
Penn State football fans root for Duke basketball by and large. Isnt there a saying that when PSU football is disappointing, they can say, "well, at least we have Duke Basketball coming up."
Except for the Philly area PSU fans, they become Villanova fans, and let's face it, 10-15 years ago, alot of PSU fans in Western PA were Pitt BB fans.
I have multiple family members who are PSU Football fans, but root for Pitt or Villanova in basketball (based on which side of the state they live on).
I know a lot of people who were PSU football fans and Pitt basketball fans back during the glory days. There is a faction of Pitt basketball fans who grew up as Pitt fans, who perhaps have Pitt parents, but decided to go to PSU for the "beautiful campus" and parties.
