Zeise said on twitter that Sean Miller would almost definitely say NO to Pitt

But how could he turn down the Pitt job? He's from here! He wants to "get back East".

People that pushed Dixon away better hope our search doesn't end up a hot mess like UCLA's did.

I think Paul Evans and Ralph Willard are still available!

Please, Zeise just wrote a blog post explaining why Jamie Dixon was staying. He is hamstrung with his kid playing football at Pitt. He can't report anything anymore until his son moves on.

He was still saying the chances were 50/50 Dixon would leave when everyone else in the world knew he was gone. I like zeise, but he doesn't seem to have any real insight here.

I hope I'm wrong, but I suspect we're going to get some unknown assistant from some mid-major school. He'll be hyped up as the next Jamie Dixon. Or maybe some assistant from a major school with a losing record for the past 20 years. I'm not very optimistic about this search. There just aren't that many decent hoops head coaches out there worth the time.

how did said people arrange that whole alma mater job opening up thing?

Really? Not even top half ACC job? That's ridiculous.

How is it ridiculous?

It's a pro-town, where at best you're 5th as far as fan interest. It's got an incredibly weak local recruiting base, and fans that for whatever reason think that we're a destination that can afford to flippantly run off someone who has averaged 26 wins over the course of his career.

You may disagree, but we're closer to Wake Forest than we are to Duke.

Good to see you post, and as usual spot on!

If that occurs the Barnes has not done his job at all.

But, but, but. I thought Pitt was one coach away from being the consensus #1 program in America?

Yeah, not really.
Not right now. But it very well could be. It was a top 2 or 3 program in the BE for 10 years so I guess it could at least be a top half ACC program in the future.

Top half of ACC programs in no order: Duke, UNC, Syracuse, Louisville, Virginia, Notre Dame, and...what's that 4 letter school????

Pitt has to be in that mix.
