Manny Pazos, Pitt freshman catcher, just threw out another CC runner, this time trying to steal 2nd base ..... he is 2 for 2 throwing out CC players trying to steal bases today so far ...... he must have a pretty good arm ! Catcher is one position we had to replace this season with Soto leaving after the MLB draft.

Pazos led off the 5th with a walk then went to 2nd on a wild pitch ...

....... however, Wolsonovich and Vranka both struck out looking ..... Pazos went to 3rd on another wild pitch, Vazquez walked .... Coastal Carolina then took Smith out even though he was pitching a no hitter and struck out 11 in 4.2 innings ...... he threw a lot of pitches and this early in the season probably isn't ready to pitch longer...... Casey Roche then singled to score Pazos .... Shelinsky struck out ...... Pitt leads 1-0 going to the bottom of the 5th.

Danielczyk came in relief of Wotherspoon in the bottom of the 6th with one run in, one out, and runners on 1st and 2nd ..... he got a double play on a pop up to short stop to end the inning ... Pitt with a 2-1 lead end of 6.
