I talked about this on the post-game show last night, but I still can't get over it.

Pitt out-rebounded Virginia 21-10 in the second half last night and didn't allow a single offensive rebound.

Not one.

Meanwhile, Pitt grabbed 8 offensive rebounds in the second half and scored 10 second-chance points.

That was huge. Virginia made its run early in the half - a 9-0 run that turned Pitt's 38-31 lead into a 40-38 Virginia lead - but the Cavaliers didn't make consecutive baskets again after that. Pitt never let Virginia get any momentum and never let the Cavaliers go on a run. Every time Virginia scored, Pitt had an answer. And if Virginia missed a basket, Pitt made sure it was a one-and-done possession by controlling the rebounds.

So even though Virginia shot 52.2% in the second half, the Cavaliers could never really get ahead of Pitt (other than that early run). That was a master class in winning a game.
