This loss clinched the worst record in the ACC for Pitt regardless of what Wake Forrest does at Syracuse.

It’s a remarkable achievement to go from ACC Champs to ACC Chunps in only two seasons. Lesser idiots might take 5 or 6 years to fall so low, but Narduzzi did it in two. Truly remarkable! He also managed to lose 5 times to teams playing backup or 3rd string QBs and one team playing a TE at the Wildcat.

Of course, he didn’t do it alone. Let’s give a shout-out to all of those who helped him along the way: First, the OC whose playcalling was abysmal. Second, the RB and Special Teams coach who was an abject failure at both. Third, the OL coach who specializes in teaching his players how to incur illegal procedure penalties when not busy holding. Fourth, the LB coach who ensures that his players always make the wrong reads and are out of position. That is why Bengally Karama may look like Tarzan but plays like Jane.

Add to that the poor clock managenent and head scratching TOs that always have been a staple in HCPN’s game plan but were lifted to a new level this season, and there you have it — a How Not To story for the ages.

It isn’t easy to be a worse FB team than Wake Forest, Syracuse, Cincinnati and some of the other rummies Pitt lost to this year. But, Narduzzi accomplished it without even being short of breath.

Short of brains? Yes. Short of ideas? Yes. Short of courage? Absolutely. But, short of breath? Never. Not where there is a microphone present to espouse his stupidity.
