Only a couple days left until Pitt’s first prospect camp of the 2015 camp season on Sunday, and we keep adding to the list of recruits who plan to camp. Here are the new names we have confirmed this week:

Colonia (NJ) LB Solomon Manning - Junior highlights
Wayne (NJ) DePaul Catholic DE Michael Dwumfour - Junior highlights
Laurel (Md.) St. Vincent Pallotti DB Justin Mulbah - Junior highlights
Laurel (Md.) St. Vincent Pallotti WR Cameron Sullivan-Brown (2017) - Sophomore highlights
Peters Township RB TJ Kpan (2017) - Sophomore highlights
Peters Township DE Logan Stahl (2017) - Sophomore highlights
Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School QB Kasim Hill - Sophomore highlights
Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School LB Antonio Dicerbo (2017) - Sophomore highlights
Hightstown (NJ) The Peddie School OL Noah DeHond (2017) - Sophomore highlights
Groton (Mass.) Lawrence Academy OL Eddy Fish - Junior highlights

Wilmington (Del.) Alexis I Dupont ATH Taylor Edwards - Junior highlights
Fork Union (Va.) Fork Union Military Academy OL James Reilly - Senior highlights
Cincinnati (Oh.) Elder DE Joe Schroer - Junior highlights

There are quite a few guys worth mentioning in there, so let’s look at a few of them.

- Ron George and Bricen Garner are particularly notable, since both are 2016 recruits and both are from Central Catholic.

George is really interesting. He missed last season - the crucial junior season - with a broken leg, but he was healthy enough this spring to emerge as the favorite in the 200-meter dash in the WPIAL track and field championships before a hamstring injury held him out. George’s speed is no joke, though; he was dominant this year on the track, he holds the school record in the 200 at Central with a time of 21.77 seconds and he won the event at least year’s WPIAL championships.

George has eight offers at this point, with scholarships from Virginia, Cincinnati, Western Michigan, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio), Old Dominion, Temple and Toledo. The talent is there - check out his sophomore highlights - but the coaches need to see him work out in person, since he didn’t play this past fall. Still, it sounds like they are really interested in George, and the contact between George and Pitt linebackers coach Rob Harley has been increasing as of late.

Garner is on the radar for Pitt, too, but I think the coaches want to see how well he runs.

- A couple other local prospects were added to the list in Peters Township sophomores TJ Kpan and Logan Stahl. Both are under the radar at this point, although that’s a relative terms since they’re prospects in the class of 2017, and that class is still emerging.

- A few other interesting 2017 prospects are coming to the camp. Laurel (Md.) St. Vincent Pallotti’s Cameron Sullivan-Brown is listed as a receiver, but his sophomore highlights show him playing an awful lot of defense, and his athleticism plus his nose for the ball could translate well on that side, either as a corner or a safety. We’ll see where he works out on Sunday.

Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School’s Kasim Hill will likely work out at quarterback, but while there’s plenty of athleticism in his sophomore highlights, he might also try another position during the camp.

There probably isn’t much doubt about the position for Ashburnham (Mass.) Cushing Academy defensive tackle Austin Pyne, a 2017 prospect who seems to have a lot of tools. I’ve heard some positive reviews of Pyne, and I’m looking forward to seeing him in person. Here are his sophomore highlights.

- And then there’s Hightstown (NJ) The Peddie School offensive lineman Noah DeHond, who might be the hottest 2017 prospect in the nation this week, as he added offers from Pitt, Alabama, Wisconsin and Clemson all since Monday. He is still planning to camp at Pitt on Sunday, so that’s obviously big for the staff. Here are his sophomore highlights; those highlights are from the 2013 season, when he was a sophomore in Rochester, New York, where he also played as a junior in 2014. DeHond will repeat his junior year in New Jersey and is now part of the class of 2017.

- Another reclassifying prospect - in a sense - is offensive lineman James Reilly, who will do a post-grad year at Fork Union Military Academy in Virginia. His senior highlights are worth a look, and we’ll keep an eye on him Sunday.

- Wilmington (Del.) Alexis I Dupont’s Taylor Edwards is also worth noting; he’s a teammate of 2015 Pitt signee Quadree Henderson, who will be accompanying him to Pittsburgh on Sunday. Edwards is listed in the Rivals.com database as an athlete, but if you check out his junior highlights[/b], he plays tight end and defensive end.
