so i was perusing the K'Bryan Hayes thread and it got me to thinking about batting averages this year compared to the past with the new pitch clock. Also maybe the "No shift" plays a part too but i saw this:
The league-wide batting average is.249, a rise from.233 during a comparable period at the start of last season,
In my opinion, this pitch clock (and batter in box clock) has been an incredible success. so far, an average game is 2:30 minutes compared to last year being well over 3 hours. AND hitting is up, stolen bases is up but not artificially manufactured by messing with the baseballs or mound or some other way..
I am absolutely loving baseball and well yeah, the pirates winning plays a huge part in that. i havent really noticed the "no shift" as much as i thought i would have. probably because O'Neill Cruz is hurt and he was the one i noticed would ground out to right field 3 xs a game..
What do you guys think? Anyone dislike it?
