Seems that black Monday is a bit underwhelming this year. I guess the midseason firings took some of the thunder away.
I wonder if teams will start to give their coaches a little more time. Seems like a dearth of head coach prospects out there. Most of the best coordinators haven't been in their roles that long. Back when it looked like the Steelers could possibly get rid of Tomlin, I dug in and looked at potential replacements. I really wanted him fired until I realized that the replacement pickings were pretty slim. This new fad of everyone hiring some <40 wunderkind is leaving the closet of experienced coordinators a little bare. I'm now OK with keeping Tomlin, more because I don't see anyone better out there than because I think he can get us back to the Super Bowl. Despite the modest success of Faulkner and Sully, I still want to go outside for an OC. And don't want Byron Leftwich.
