Doesn't he realize that someone else could put the stopwatch on the punter? Then he calls a timeout to give the officials a chance to check on whether the BC QB was over the scrimmage line. ( I think his whole body was not over the scrimmage line but the officials wouldn't call it because it would have made them look bad for missing it the first time. They let the call "stand".)It's a good thing that Hayes was playing tonight or BC would have won.
Finally, how bad are Nards and Cignetti for not noticing all this time that the third stringer was the best quarterback?
