I think desperate teams sometimes play better, and sometimes play too tight.
The four most desperate teams in the ACCT, in order, are
1. UNC
2. Clemson
3a. Pitt
3b. NC State
UNC needs 2 wins, and probably 3. This was the preseason #1 team in the country. The pressure on them in enormous.
Clemson, despite a 22-9/14-6 record... is out and probably needs at least 2 wins. Their fans are as pissed as us about the NET and especially pissed they are behind Pitt and NCSU despite beating both on the road.
Pitt and NCSU are right next to each other on almost every S curve... and both need to avoid a loss on Wednesday to a bad team to feel safe.
