I have always noticed the top teams in recruiting have large recruiting classes every year. How does this happen> Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State with 25 recruits every year and dipping into the portal.

Lots of guys leaving early for the NFL; lots of guys transferring elsewhere because they're stuck behind some phenom on the depth chart (or they come in with a 5-star ego and simply don't want to wait their turn); lots of guys being nudged elsewhere because they didn't develop as expected; lots of accidental deaths to to being trampled by a stampede of buffalo, which is a huge problem in many of these more rural schools.

They also tend to over-recruit and will essentially push kids out of the program.
