Pittsburgh (22-11, 12-8; NET: 40, SOR: 42): And after that intro, and all of that noodling about people tricking themselves into thinking the teams they see are actually good, you know what? We think Pitt should get in the tournament. More than that, we think they will. Fortunately, we’ve been writing about this for weeks, so we have the receipts, but we’ve been leaning this way for a while. Pitt’s team sheet has gotten better and better over time; few teams have played better since late January; and the Panthers have done most of their best work (including winning at Duke) on the road. Pittsburgh is 4-6 in Quadrant 1, 7-4 in true road games, has built itself an extremely viable NET and SOR combination, and — yes, we’re just going to say it — looked like a tournament team Friday night! Sorry! We are only human like everyone else! Fun game, good team! Put them in the tournament. The end.
