This team is a reflection of it’s coach, undisciplined & not very smart…

Exercising the 24 hours rule, I have come to the conclusion that this team reflects much of it’s Head Coach’s personality. They’re arrogant (crossed the threshold from being confident) & have very little situational awareness. Listening to Narduzzi post-game, he tries to excuse the 1st unsportsmanlike penalty by saying players pull people off the pile all the time and it’s seldom called…McMillion literally dragged the kid 5 yards down the field by his ankle!
Smart coaches don’t excuse penalties, they don’t foster a culture where lack of awareness is acceptable.

When asked about the spot on CV’s slide, he says that CV needs to dive there, no shit! How about reviewing the actual rule in practice and meeting room with the QBs. How about educating them over & over that the ball will be spotted where you start your slide, not where your ass lands…it’s the attention to detail that Narduzzi talks about, but is seldom seen on the field. I mean, when’s the last time you saw a head coach using a stop watch during a game to time the punt snap?
Is that what he’s concerned with as a head coach, because he sure as hell isn’t gathering his players around to reinforce situational awareness at various points of the game. Put the stopwatch down and emphasize situational awareness to your players at various stages of the game for crying out loud!

Unless you’re supremely talented (which we are not) the game of football comes down to limiting your mistakes, not beating yourself with mindless penalties, missed assignments and lack of discipline. It’s painfully obvious that Narduzzi himself does not keep his emotions under control during games, so how can you expect his players to. Yes football is a emotionally charged game, but it’s a game that is won most often by the smartest team, not the most emotional.

The best coaches repeatedly educate their players on situational awareness throughout the game. Constantly reminding them of what the down & distance is, what to be looking for in each situation…to play under control, don’t get distracted.
Narduzzi is usually the most emotional, animated person on the sideline. He’s not situationally aware, he’s not under control, so why would we expect 19 and 20 year old kids to be!
Narduzzi is certainly authentic and true to his personality…but his personality does not lend itself well to a head coach/CEO
