There's still a long way to go but this team obviously looks vastly different than the team we saw November 25. That game was so deflating, I had serious doubts about this team. I even went so far as to predict they'd finish last again. While there were plenty of examples of teams having bad early losses but very good seasons, I just didn't foresee Pitt being one of those teams. It appears I was wrong and I'm very glad about that. Last night, although Duke is not a great team, took me back to the H-D era in that we had Shulman doing the game vs a brand name opponent where I had the confidence Pitt would make the needed winning plays. In fact, with a 2 point lead late, Toney's cut to the lane and Johnson finding him reminded me so much of a Knight to JB or JP late game play.

1 through 4, we have the chance to be pretty good.

Johnson - when he's good, he's as good as any PG in the ACC. If he plays well, we probably win. Last night, I thought he was just ok because he had 3 live ball turnovers which directly resulted in 6 Duke fast break points. PGs will have TOs but all 3 of these came on really bad decisions.

Horton - when he's hitting, he's a major threat

Toney - becoming a star. A 2nd or 3rd team ACC guy right now and looking like an upgraded version of Jaron Brown

Champagnie- daaaayyyyyuuuuummm - has become a complete monster and the best player in the ACC.

If these 4 play well, we will win a lot.
