#10 in the Country

always is, I guess until we build something special wrestling will always be a sport you love if you love it and don't pay attention if you know nothng about it.

I would love to see more activity myself. Im not a thread starter per se but I am happy to help any Panther fan increase their knowledge of the sport if they so desire.

Being #10 is a nice step in the right direction for sure

Not an easy accomplishment considering everyone in the Country recruits this area. Iowa, Ohio State, PSU to name a few. Pitt should be a top 10 wrestling program, but needs more street credibility to reel in the elites. To get guys like Phillippi, that caliber kid, you need show big progress. Gavin is doing that and if he continues to maintain and get some guys in the National finals this program could take off. Gavin's recruiting seems to look for kids who have talent that just need mature. Looking at the development of Wetzel, tells me these guys can coach and make you better. Lots good things happening.

Whats really cool in the ratings is the strength of the ACC in College Wrestling. Big 10 has kind of been the darling of the elite wrestlers. However, as the ACC gets stronger so does the recruiting and that's important for Gavin to sell.

The ACC is a small wrestling confrence but every team is getting really good beside Duke who actually does really well considering they have 0 scholarships to work with

The state of Georgia is on the rise for high school wrestling, would love to see Georgia tech add a program

Seems like every year since we’ve been in the ACC is the best the conference has ever been. It’s really been a fast improvement for the league overall

It would be good. Florida produces some quality wrestlers, maybe not at the rate of some other states but they do. I always find it odd though that Clemson fielded a wrestling program through the ‘95 season I believe. Anyway, like you said I think the sport is beginning to hold interest (again?) among the southern states.

the cut wrestling because of Title IX, but they recently added softball so maybe at some point in the future they’ll add wrestling with another female sport. They definitely have the $$ to do it
