Pro: the head men's basketball coach for the Eastern Michigan Eagles. He has been with Eastern Michigan since April 2011. Ties to H Lyke might be an aid for program development. Asst at successful programs of Kent State and Syracuse prior so knows area and conference. Winning coach at every level he has been a HC.
Con: Might be waiting for a bigger job.

2.) Mark Few Gonzaga
Pro: He's done well at a small private school, might be ready to step up.
Con: Over 55, might be too old. Can he recruit on the East Coast? Only one Final Four with all that talent.

Pro: the winningest coach in Ohio State history.
Con: Age 51 (born July 11, 1967) which means he is older than longtime former asst Sean Miller (born November 17, 1968). That might bve a dealbreaker to some.

Pro: Under 50, 14 yrs at UNC. Checks a lot of experience boxes at a blue blood. Knows the ACC well; helped land Cam Johnson to UNC so knows area well as well.
Con: Coordinating rep with the UNC grads in the NBA.... might be on track for job in the association.

6.) Brad Stevens Boston Celtics
Pro: Negotiated the transition from small upstart school Butler to their final four appearance over higher seeded powers such as Pitt. Might want to prove he can win in the ACC.
Con: Works in Boston, might have rooted for the Patriots, even if just for show might not be able to trust.

Pro: Age 35, nice motor, Strong recruiting ties. Played high school basketball at New Jersey basketball powerhouse Saint Benedict's Preparatory School in Newark. Has lived in the region so family is comfortable with the area....'Burgh would be a step up from Cleveland. Suspended from team so is available. Other former friends of Lebron have done well in the 'Burgh at Duquesne, so there is precedent.
Cons: Real coach of team is Lebron. Might be a system guy. On March 2, 2017 Smith was suspended for one game for throwing a bowl of soup at an assistant coach.[61][62][63][64] So filling a staff might be difficult.

Pros: great coach, Knows ACC already. Might be ready to step away from a football oriented school. When moved from Marquette to VT The Chicago Sun-Times characterized it as a "head-scratching move to an ACC bottom-feeder --- He might be ready to do it again.
Cons: Assistant under Tom Crean, will be a hard sell to the board dwellers.

Pros: Great name, up and comer , was hired by OSU in 2014 from the University of Montana – Missoula, where he coached the Montana Grizzlies to two Big Sky Conference championships and a school-record 25 wins. Down a little at Oregon State, but Scott Barnes would vouch for him personally.

Pros Played in Big 12 and at in the big East with ND. Coaching roots. California ties. Could expand recruiting footprint. Good at press conferences.
Cons: Cushy radio gig may be difficult to sway away form. Thinks Stallings should stay so that may be a deal breaker.

Pro: Experienced. Knows the University. Excellent HC mind, Highly recommended. Family member is affiliated with the Pittsburgh Baseball Club so has ties.
Con: Underwhelmed at current stop. Might not be ready to move on.

Pro: From area, age 46 so not too old. Its in his roots. HS star in church league. Has coached 4th grade girls team to a 0.450 record over 2 non-consecutive years. Likes physical teams. Now that girls are in HS he is available. Should be able to fill staff with local talent and connect with the region.
Cons: Tends to sit and complain a lot. Prefers to yell at the refs when he is alone. Not comfortable with watching games in the 'Pete. Might not have finished with a degree.

Pro: Winner wherever he goes. Knows how to handle talent. Can build a great staff. never satisfied.
