14-0 Louisville....not even 3 minutes in

The Ville will put up a ton of points this year, on most everyone. Babers was a good hire for the orange.

Syracuse is a tough fix for anyone, even a good coach. All I know is that their uniforms are ugly, their play is ugly, and it's been that way for a LONG damn time. Syracuse is the rare P5 program Pitt can look at and LOL at with absolutely no guilt. That alone should say something.

They're definitely in a tough situation at SU with NY state football being what it is. I would think they'd have a tough time getting back to where they were in the 90's again. We at least have more players in our local area to draw from.

It's sad to see the SU program the way it is now. They had so many great players that went on to exceptional pro careers from the 90s.

at the 'cuse.

The L'ville QB is the real deal.
Syracuse is who we think they are.
Petrino is just like other coaches with similar sounding names, a scumbag.
Petrino is a great Coach with flaws ULou will accept. Pitt is fortunate it is not playing FSU, Clemson, and ULou that are the Best Programs in the ACC with good Fan Support.

Pitt has time to rebuild and overcome the challenges of staying with Miami, VT, and UNC! Pitt has to win today to continue that rebuilding process, and that is not a sure thing either. if it doesn't it will be harder for Pitt to rebuild.

Just hope the game is great and both fan bases come to understand it is fun and worth playing again. But Pitt, Wvu, and Psu all have much more work to do and much harder challenges to return to the Top 25!

It's funny you mention that.
People here grunt and groan about playing them every year but growing up in the 80's and attending in the 90's, I really hated Syracuse. I definitely saw them as a rival, even if Don Nehlen would disagree.

It's not sad for me to see Syracuse in its woeful state of football. Did the Cuse fans feel sorry for us Pitt fans in the 90s? The answer is "no."

Pitt beat ULou last year and it was one of Narduzzi better coached games. To me to beat Petrino is an example of a coach growing into a better coach. This is why it is important for Coach Pat & Staff to beat Coach James & Staff today.

It shows Pitt is on the right track. Here is how I see Coach Pat & Staff challenges against Ranking the Coaches in 2016 on Pitt Schedule:
1. Swinney
2. Richt
2. Fedora
2. Gundy
5. Johnson
5. Fuente
5. Franklin
5. Holiday
5. Cutcliffe
5. Babers.
5. Mendenhall.
5. Talley

Agree. Last season's win over Louisville seems to be forgotten but shouldn't because it was a huge win versus a coach who is the real deal. Petrino might be a dirt bag, but he's a damn good coach at a school that is all in when it comes to winning, and I have no problem with that mindset.

Yep, always good insight from your views and posts and looking forward to a Pitt Victory to rebuild the Program where Pitt will be competitive every tear with Clemson, FSU, ULou, UNC, VT, and Miami!

Ugh......one of the really bad side effects of these fast tempo, one hundred play run offensive teams going against each other, the games take longer than War and Peace to play.
