If Pitt somehow goes to 2-2 in these last 4 games and goes 1-1 in the ACCT and finishes 18-15 will that be good enough for them to make the NIT?? Saw a new bracketology out today that had Pitt not making the NIT. I don’t see Pitt finishing at 18-15 but if they do will this be good enough for them to get in??

Just want to get over 0.500 for the season.

The biggest challenge will be going 2-2.

Not to be nasty... but WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING? Have you been watching this complete collapse? We have a back court that looks like it couldn't compete with LaRoche College right now. Where are 2 wins coming from? Cuse crushed once... and the team was playing better back then.

They could go 1-1 at home against Virginia and Cuse and 1-1 on the road with NC State and Georgia Tech and win 2 more games. It most likely won’t happen but there is at least a slim chance and not completely impossible to suggest. I wonder if Josh Pastner still thinks Pitt will be a top 3 or 4 ACC team next season like he suggested a few weeks back after Pitt beat Georgia Tech.

If we go 2-2, our chances to make the NIT would be completely in the hands of how many teams get auto bids to the NIT. If that number is 10-12 or more, we've got pretty much no shot.

And I don't like our odds of going any more than 1-3.

No. They'd have to win 3 in Greensboro to get to 19-15 and that is impossible.

Their best bet is to go 3-1 the rest of the way. UVa will be low scoring and close so maybe we can 46-44 but I highly doubt it. Then Cuse, you never know. Win those 2 and you have something to play for the last 2. Most likely though, we lose out.

And it normally is which is why I always post the following things around this time every year:

1. Why dont more leagues award their auto bid to their regular season champion so they have a better shot at winning a game in the NCAAT and getting that extra NCAAT share? Dont say for ESPN money. Every game is on TV now. Its not 1995. ESPN has to be paying peanuts for these league championship games.

2. Why not have the conference champion play the regular season on a neutral floor if the regular season champ doesn't win it?

3. Why not expand the NIT to 48 or 64?

4. If the NIT won't expand, how is there not a market for a 16 team tournament for Power 6 teams that dont make the NCAAT? We have POS bowl games but nobody will watch 17-16 Pitt play 17-16 Mississippi? You put that on CBSSN or NBCSN and more people will watch that than whatever garbage they have on.

The NIT is fine the way it is. Barely anyone cares about it now. Besides you of course.

Plus, the NIT already tried to expand (it was 40 teams for a while in the mid 2000s) and obviously concluded that 32 was a more manageable number.

There's 32 teams to make so the question is are we one of the best 99 teams that makes the NCAA & NIT combined

Good enough for me.
Every human.....
Every computer predicted 7-10 wins. We were all correct

No person predicted more than this..
.. however if we stick at 6 then we are all wrong

The goal is to scratch out two more wins.

Yeah, X and Trey hit a wall again. But, if they can focus on D and plan to muck it out from the opening tip, they can pull at least one more out.

Hey Drew1208 I'm wrong but that's ok. I said I see 10 conf wins and 20 wins. That was alittle Bullish of me but if you remember I was going on the ACC being down and us being better and we our and I think we could've but the ball didn't bounce our way in a few games but I'll be predicting something similar next year though cuz I think we can get there.

The NIT would be great way to finish off a season where the team is improving , which unfortunately isn’t the case . They’re a tried an injured bunch right now so unless they make a miraculous turnaround the season needs to be put to rest .

Yeah I remember your prediction.
Actually I'd say most of us said 7-10

Yeah it meant a little to me because with those teams losing really good players and we were getting some supposed to be better players and getting a little more experience I just thought we can get a couple more wins which we should have but we lost a couple games we shouldn't have but we also won a couple we probably shouldn't have but. Next yr should be real interesting.
The ACC being down means nothing to me.
Because most teams being down has nothing to do with us.
