1963 Pitt team was 9-1
1964 team was 3-5-2
That 6 game one season reduction in wins is the Pitt record .. until this season. That’s how historically bad this is shaping up to be.

There’s also the fact that we’re facing the reality of finishing 1-11 after winning a P5 championship two years prior. When was the last time that happened? Closest examples I can think of are Auburn with Gene Chizik and LSU with Coach O, although they never got that bad.

I would like a few answers if anyone can come up with them:

1. Worst record in Year 9 at a school
2. Worst win reduction in a 2 year period. Would 11 wins to 1 win be a record?

I imagine yes. Pitt went from 9-1 in 63 to 1-9 in 66. And Pitt has never had a season where they lost 5 games more than the previous year.
