Still early as they are underclassmen but need to make a good impression in their recruitment, both are big time local recruits with major offers already, especially Robinson.

maybe actually go to the game, add to the atmosphere, give to Alliance412...you know, be a little proactive about things.

Did that for almost 20 years. Oddly, I've never seen Pitt wear the Script, outside if that single throwback game. It's like they decided to listen once I stopped getting season tickets.

Call me a bad fan, or worse. It's fine.

These are the same “fans” that complain about us not getting better recruits.

Yeah, I'm sure the putrid offense will have nothing to do with it.

Bottom line, PN blew his chance to upgrade the program by doubling down on stupid.

then be miserable on a message board knowing you did nothing to try and improve the situation. Whatever makes you happy I guess

In reality, this is not a good week to host anybody. I would wait until FSU if they could make it work with their schedules. Given what the weather is likely going to be like, this could look like last season's Georgia Tech game.

if they both want to come this week, got to make the best of it. They have offers from big schools and are still underclassmen, can't turn players like this away.

Well, I did have season tickets. Attended most games even when living out of town. Bought merchindise. Donated. Applied for the farce Fan Experience Commitee. Told my thoughts to desision makers on how to improve things. etc. So it's not like I didn't contribute. I just don't care much anymore. Same with the Steelers. When I was in high school, I couldn't concentrate in school on a day when the Steelers where playing on Monday night. Now, I still follow, but... meh. Life changes I guess.

Edit: Re Pitt, I guess I know they havn't really serious since the early 80s. I watch and follow and comment, but really they aren't going to get there.

I have no problem giving my money to my alma mater. I am extremely proud of saying this.

But giving money to funnel to kids to play a game will ruin this sport and lose me.

And I think many across the country feel the same as i do.

I totally agree with you. But this is the hand we've been dealt and the only way to to stay competitive. It truly is a broken system in that conferences get billions and pay it out to the schools but it is up to the fans to fund the players.

Wow, even I go to way more games than you :)

You are right. You can continue being a whiny beyotch complaining about Pitt’s average recruiting and continue being part of the problem.
Bro,

Pitt's problems go way beyond me.

I get it. Your tolerance for all of this is greater than mine. All good. I will of course continue to give to my university,

But this illusion of nothing more than money laundering is something i want no part of.

And again.....there are enormous numbers in each fan base (excluding the blue bloods) that are in my camp.

No one can blame them.

You are definitely not alone. Pay the players out of TV money. Pitt will never be a big player the way the deck is stacked now.

Well there might be enormous numbers of fans who are completely disgusted by the way things are now, but there was a story I was reading this morning that across all networks there are 28% more people watching college football this year than there were five years ago, and that is essentially unprecedented in television right now.

So if there are a lot of people being turned off by the way things are, they are being replaced by far more people who appear to be more interested than ever.

Pitt will never be a big player because Pitt fans don’t care as much as the fans of other schools. Pitt fans whine and complain rather than doing something to help the program. Big mouths with alligator arms.

That's what they are aiming for, the people that want the super league, mini-NFL type deal, the ones that are fans of teams they have no connection with, like the Jersey guy who calls Bama "we", or the gamblers, they figure the traditional fans who love Pitt specifically because they are alumni or grew up in Pittsburgh will probably watch anyways.

I'm a real Pitt fan, because I will still watch Pitt games over any other games, even if we are D3, but no, I'm not paying money to 18-year-olds to play any sport, I'd rather donate to lowering tuition for kids with no talent at anything, so they aren't in huge debt. But that's fine, because since I will abandon D1 power football if Pitt is ever out and just follow whatever league they are in, I'm not any sort of hypocrite. the way I see it, I figure 90% of Bama fans are local hillbillies who never went to college and don't donate a cent, they let the rich guys ante up, I'm comfortable with being a local hillbilly or Yinzer.

Which is not to assume that the new fans are willing to throw away money on NIL

don't complain about 6-6 seasons then.
I used to complain about the apathy, ineptitude and poor decisions made by this program, resulting is mediocrity for most of the past 40 years.

But paying players on an uneven playing field has turned CFB into major league baseball.

I quit the pirates decades ago, and i suppose its time to turn the lights out on Pitt

I would like to add that I do go to the games with 4 friends and try to add to the game day atmosphere. We have been doing so for over the last 25+ years. We have sat through rain and snow storms, temperatures below 10 degrees, with a wind chill near zero. We will continue to do so, even with the horrible OC the program currently has. I know that I not only speak for myself, but for my 4 friends as well (all of us are Pitt grads with varying degrees) when I say that we will not be contributing any money to the Alliance 412 group. If other want to do so, awesome!! Go for it! Something just doesn't feel right about this situation for us. Seems to be a lot of financial information that is being kept undisclosed. That seems to be a red flag to all of us. By the way, why isn't the University of Pittsburgh taking some money out of its rather large endowment to help fund NIL deals for all of the Pitt athletes.
