200-7

How does one recruit that bad??? I mean you would have to try to find kids that sucked in high school to be that bad!

I wonder if the BigTen is beginning to think of giving Rutgers the “Temple out of the Big East” treatment?

Why would they?
Easy win for everybody else
Every conference needs a doormat or two
It actually is a problem the Coastal has. No consistently automatic wins

Remember, Narduzzi would love to take over that program...

Rutgers Al will somehow be able to spin that into a positive.

Kansas had some horrid teams the last few years, too lazy to look it up but I doubt it was quite as bad as this current Rutgers edition. Probably close though.

Rutgers has now been outscored 200-7 in conference play this year, which is almost impossible to comprehend.

I was going to post something similar. Its hard to understand how, even Rutgers, can be that bad. Like, this Rutgers team could go down as perhaps the worst P5 team ever. They are going to go 0-9 and maybe score less than 30 points all season. At least Pitt had an excuse in the Majors II era as we de-emphasized football and required our players to meet higher academic standards than the NCAA minimums. I don't know what Rutgers's excuse is except that they are Rutgers.

I remember 2015 Kansas as being unbelievably bad, but when I look it up they were only outscored 430-108 in the Big 12. This Rutgers team is now at 207-14 and they still haven’t played OSU yet. Can’t imagine they will light up the scoreboard at Penn St or Michigan St either.

We may be witnessing historic futility here. Langan was 9-19 for 48 yards and 3 picks today, and that was after a few completed passes in garbage time.

Rutgers deserves to be ridiculed publicly after their hubris in being invited to join the Big Ten.
They don't merely suck, they are setting new lows for CFB.
The Big Ten deserves to be called out for prostituting itself and the bogus claim that NYC is home to Rutgers.
The uniforms they wore against Minnesota were ugly beyond description. If 10000 people showed up for that homecoming game then I'll eat my hat.
No one but Schiano will take that job, but if they offer him the job they have an instant PR nightmare on their hands.
In short, they are a bad fit and if I were running the Big Ten, I would look to expel them.
Northwestern was under scrutiny in the 70s, but they hung on because they were a charter member and thus could not get expelled. Plus NW gave the conference clout in academia.
"Never" is a word that should be chosen quite carefully. But as far as RU football is concerned, it is a bad joke on and off the field.

Because RU is east coast and the knowledge of Sanduskys rapes caused UT to back out of offering him the job in Knoxville. He and RU would Be cannon fodder for liberal east coast media. Schiano backed Out of the DC job with the Pats. He wants to avoid media scrutiny.

That’s only an issue because UT thought they’d be getting the next Saban and instead Schiano. Nobody is going to make an issue of schiano except a place like UT where that entire search was bizarre. He did far better at Rutgers than anyone else they’ve had since. He just got the NFL bug and it was a disaster and the New England job issue was odd. Now he’s focusing his time to get back to college.
Honestly, who here really sees schiano as a PSU Guy. We see him as a wood chopping Rutgers guy.

Schiano has been vetted numerous times for jobs since that scandal and has been cleared. He had nothing to do with any of that. Tennessee hillbilly’s didn’t like the hire so they took that farce and painted it on a rock. It really was disgusting what they did to him and how they treated him. He would have made a good fit there IMO. I don’t know if he’d go back to Rutgers or not but they’d be crazy not to take him back if he wanted the job.

They would likely be an underdog against first ever opponent and historic rival Princeton. Thats incredible considering they have a Big 10 budget.

Yes he has....but the court of public opinion is unforgiving. And east coast bias would crucify RU. Run a search of Schiano in the NYT if you want a dose of public opy.

They are still the most delusional fan base in America... They still mention Narduzzi in every thread concerning possible coaching hires. Some of them realize that there is little chance of happening. Others are convinced that all they have to do is offer him and he will come running...

For your amusement:

How embarrassing would it be for Narduzzi to request speaking to Rutgers about their head coaching job? Whether it was for leverage or not, if he even thinks about it, If I were Heather, I would fire him on the spot.

He not a very good coach at all actually. 68-67 overall and 28-48 in a very watered down Big East. Guy played amongst the worst non conference schedules we’ve ever seen for many years. TBH he had no business being considered for a place like Tennessee, their program has taken a nosedive, but expectations are still high (if unreseaonable) and he would be absolutely out of his league in the SEC.

The best move for him if he was serious about head coaching again would’ve been to step down a level and start there. Or step down 2 levels and go back to Rutgers.

Big East was better than the coastal is today!
