Before the season begins, I figured I'd post the dates and times for the potential bowl games we may play in.
Interestingly, the 4 "Tier 2" bowls are all either Dec 26 or 27 while the rest of the bowls are Dec. 28 are later. If our record and our vindicated traveling fanbase allows us, it would be great to get a Tier 1 bowl to see if we can build on the strong travel to Annapolis. I've always said, give us a bowl that isn't on Dec 26, Birmingham, or after a crushing championship game loss (to Miami and Cincinnati), and we would travel well.
Monday, December 26
11AM - St. Petersburg Bowl vs American Athletic (ESPN)
2:30 - Quick Lane Bowl (Detroit) vs Big Ten (ESPN)
5:00 - Independence Bowl vs SEC (ESPN2)
Tuesday, Dec 27
3:30 - Military Bowl vs American Athletic (ESPN)
Wednesday, Dec 28
2:00 - Pinstripe Bowl vs Big Ten (ESPN)
5:30 - Russell Athletic Bowl vs Big 12 (ESPN)
Thursday, Dec 29
5:30 - Belk Bowl vs SEC (ESPN)
Friday, Dec 30
2:00 - Sun Bowl vs Pac 12 (CBS)
3:30 - Music City Bowl vs SEC (ESPN)
8:00 - Orange Bowl vs TBD (ESPN)
Sat, Dec 31
11AM - Taxslayer Bowl (JAX) vs SEC
11AM - Citrus Bowl vs SEC
- The ACC gets either the Music City or Taxslayer, not both
- The ACC only gets the Citrus if a Big Ten team ends up in the Orange Bowl
My guess is that 8-4 will send us to the Pinstripe Bowl since we have shown the ability to sell a lot of tickets for a not-too-distant bowl game.
7-5 probably sends us to a Tier 2 bowl.
