I think this is a must get position of need for us in 2016. Charlie Moore appears to be the primary target, if not the only target I have heard of. Seems like a good prospect.....hope we can get him here. Any thoughts on this, or any other PG prospects in 2016.

Cassius Winston and David Carr are other top prospects.

Unfortunately, I can't say I feel that our possibilities with any of them, including Moore, are that good. Let's hope Dixon and staff can start getting some of these targets in the coming weeks.

Uh, Tony Carr, right?

Uh... for TONY Carr... in the list of schools offering... we are not listed.
The Rivals site is usually months behind in basketball listings. We offered both Carr and his teamate Lamar Stevens months ago.

What I should say here is that right now the PG situation for 2016+ is pretty much up in the air with Newkirk coming off a hideous sophomore season as well as surgery, and Wilson being a combo guard and a freshman.

So, what Dixon needs to do is see where these two are at before it becomes clear what our need is come 2016.

Otherwise, the one guy is from Michigan and unlikely coming here (what, is this a 'Smoke' recruit?), another guy is from Chicago (another Smoke recriuit?) and doesn't have much in the way of major offers except Iowa, and the 3rd guy is from Philly and has talked about wanting him and a teammate to go to the same school.

Dixon should have a much better feel for this come December or so once he has had a chance to see Newkirk and Wilson in some real games.

The problem I see with this approach is we miss the early signing period, and more importantly we end up trying to get someone in the April signing period....and we have not done well at all at doing that.

Either way, we need to add a ball handler and a scorer. The only questions are whether the need is severe, i.e. as an immediate starter, or just for routine depth.

Even if by some miracle Newkirk turns it around, unless they are absolutely sure Wilson is going to be a top flight PG, they have to come out of this year with a starting caliber PG.

If the position is to assess during the earlier parts of the season, given that more so now than ever they have shown no capacity to close late on a highly contested recruit, they pretty much put themselves into a position where they will get pinched out of any real viable PGs in this class.

Again, unless JD plans to hand the keys to Wilson for three years running, they should be furiously trying to close on a JROB (not style per se, just in terms of level of recruit) or some PG they really like, right now.

Yeah, would be nice to pull in a Knight or a Fields... but... oops... both were from NYC metro and we no longer play much there. So, maybe the kid from Philly.

How about Wolfgang Novawitz.....is he someone that is a decent possibility at PG? I've seen his name mentioned as well.
