How many 5* are there and unless that kids local and wants to play in front of mom and dad why would they go to Pitt when you can go anywhere they want ?

Because Jamie is a great coach?? Isn't that what the pro Jamie crowd thinks?

Really?? Damn. And Dante Taylor was our 1st McDonalds All-American in decades and he didn't work out. Why are we failing in recruiting lately?

Robinson was generally ranked about #50 to #60.

He is a great coach who just happens to make his players go to class. Going to the game at Miami and seeing the campus for the first time there'd be no choice where I'd want to spend four yrs at between Pitt and Miami. I'd actually would try to red shirt for a fifth yr.

I like our three recruits.

I don't know how anyone can be even remotely excited for Chrishawn Clark. I'm pretty excited for Manigault and Kithcart.....but Clark looks really really average. Plus he'll be coming off a knee injury.

Milligan should help next year though.

Before the knee injury, I liked Clark the best of the three. But the knee does damper my enthusiasm somewhat.

I know they all weren't in the same recruiting class, but a class consisting of Knight, Page, Zavackas and Troutman would have been ranked in the 50s too.

I like Manigault and Kithcart, but our class balance is terrible. Not enough younger guys to develop in our system.

The bottom is falling out of this program , and unless you are a liar, or a fool, you can see it. You can be the biggest Jaimie washer and still admit things are headed south, especially in the ACC

The pessimism is pathetic . This isn't Fb were you need a roster full of players and a few stars ,bb one or two players turns the ship around. Do I like what I'm seeing ,no ,but I prefer to see the the glass half full. Maybe Cam Johnson becomes a 20 pt man ,Nix plugs up the middle and the newcomers are better than advertised and Wilson and Milligan add quickness at the guard slot. Or maybe we all should hold a pity party , this is college bb enjoy it or stop watching .

I tend to find people who use the term "washer" to be of very limited intelligence.

Who gives a damn what you think. I think you are part of the problem not the solution. You can take that for what you want, and I'm not Insinuating you are very bright either

That made no sense. Thus proves my point I guess. Have YOU ever met a half way intelligent person who says "washer"? Me neither. That is more of a Scout thing anyway, it's a leper colony over there. That kind of stuff would play better there.

Curious, how are you more part of a solution then me?

Maybe I'm wrong, but this might not be a bad thing. It's starting to seem that Jamie can not coach the star players or even gifted offensive players like we have now. But he is undoubtedly a tremendous coach when it comes to motivating the kids who come in with chips on their shoulders.

Face it, 3/4 of the time or more our highly star rated players here fail. The guys who were overlooked or just not thought of much, Jamie gets max potential x 10 from those kinds of kids. The program was what it was, maybe when we moved to the ACC we just got too far away from that and it hasn't paid off yet.

No, the guys we have now are not 4 and 5 star guys by and large. We just need better players, regardless of stars.

I agree with this, he better soon, we are middle of pack now. ACC top to bottom looks to be getting better as well.

No, just James was, you're right. I was including this group as just offensively gifted because I still think this is the best shooting team we've had. Throughout the years our 4 and 5 star recruits have not fared well a good bit of the time.

It's kind of funny how for years everyone coveted offense and now that Pitt has some offensive talent we covet defense and rebounding. JD is a defense and rebounding coach ,this must be killing him that this group can't play D or rebound even remotely like his past teams .The team isn't balanced and the offense isn't good enough to carry the load against better teams. MYoung would be a great 4 if he had a stud at center JRob would be much better had he ever had a true 2 to play with. Not balanced missing pieces whatever you like to call it there's talent there but not in all the right places.

Weather others think it an say it or not, I think Jamie is a great coach ? And you are what a average poster ? Jamie ha s done a lot with very little. Duke had the top rated recruiting class this year (2015) and what are they doing ? Nothing great in the middle of the ACC pack with Pitt. And only 10 (less than half) of 2015's top 25 in recruiting are in the current top 25 ( and two more received votes). 3 of the top 5 aren't in the top 25. And Penn state is only rated because theygot three hgh rated guys from the same school to go to Penn state. that's very unusual, even the biggies like Duke, Kentucky, and Louisville have never done that. Ohand by the way Penn state was ranked # 32 in 2015 recruiting. What is their record ? How close are they to making the tournament ? So please save the recruiting garbage. Pitt is just fine.

This constant defense that Dixon is a good coach who is handcuffed because he's honest and makes his kids go to class is a weak excuse. ND has pretty strict standards and seems to be doing fine.Stanford,Vilanova,Indiana, etc. Its great that he runs a clean program but that doesn't excuse it's downward spiral.

Good god look who your comparing Pitt to , two of the finest universities that exist ( ND and Stanford ) a basketball elite( Ind) and an excellent school in a weathly section of Philly with a local recruiting base any coach would die for. I think Pitt tried to recruit with the big boys over estimating the draw of the ACC ,they lost all those battles and the kids next up realized they weren't the prime targets and went elsewhere were they were the prime targets.
Pitts a fine university ,they play in a fine faculty ,they play in the strongest conference ,they do have a good coach, but so do a lot of other schools . Pitt has no local recruiting base, kids from the east don't seem to gravitate to the ACC schools ,kids from the Midwest go to the Big 10, southern kids stay south. Elite kids go to elite programs. Quite a pickle huh!
I went to the game at Miami what a campus . Oakland ( 5th and Forbes concrete ) vs Coral Gables ( green grass ,palm trees , outdoor pools ,restaurants and girls ), 10 degrees vs 70 . I can't see how Pitt could compete with them let alone Duke ,UNC ,and Louisville for players.
If you wish to believe that everything is equal in college athletics who am I to tell you otherwise. They need to get back to recruiting Pitt style basketball players and with next years additions I think they're on the way.
