22 points, 9 assists, 10 rebounds, 0 turnovers

I prefer to focus on stat lines against UNC, Lousville, Miami, UVA, etc. you know....the games where 4 yr starting PGs are supposed to step up and do something.

But hey kudos to JRob for rebounding from a crappy Sunday and filling the stat sheet against the worse ACC team in years. He did play better than Sunday, that's for certain but a one game blip on the radar won't cut it down the stretch.

In all seriousness though, JRob did have a solid night. I don't think anyone can question his desire and effort.

A. WF isn't the worst team in the ACC. BC clearly is.

B. You can't have a bunch of good games down the stretch without having the first one.

C. Artis and Young were also playing against that crappy team tonight, and neither played any better than Sunday.

D. Robinson won tonight's game nearly by himself. He had to overcome Artis and Young literally throwing the game away. He would've preferred an 8-point, 8-assist game in which those two did all the scoring. But those two were trying to end the season, and he wouldn't let them.

I've been to just about every game ever played at the Peterson Events Center, and I can't think of a more sustained clutch performance by any Pitt player there ever! There was a WVU overtime game where Woodale made some great plays, there was a couple or clutch final shots (Ramon, Gibbs), but there's never been one that I can remember where one player just took over, doing everything in crunch time.

This is epic "Pitt fan" right here. Complete lack of facts, trolling on their own player. #lairdon'tcare

He did score 15 against UNC.

Ok we bashed him all week so...
1) ill eat crow; i was wrong tonight.
2) who should we rip apart so they karmatically prove us all wrong and we somehow win due to their elevated play?

Sam young and some guy from Cincy (DanteVaughan?) kept trading shot for shot, shot for shot. Neither would miss. Finally, the Cincy guy missed, Sam did not. One of the most amazing end game sequences I have ever seen, by both of them.

Gilbert Brown scoring like 9 down the stretch to come back against SU very late was pretty amazing too.

I could be a little fuzzy on those details, but they happened.

How about a little credit to Chris Jones as well. I liked the effort from JRob, Jones, Maia and Luther. We got points from our guards tonight. I doubt we get that when we play a quality team, but it was nice to see. We still don't play well as a team on either O or D and without that we are not going to have a chance against either the Ville or Duke. At least for now, we still haven't had our bubble burst!

He got his hands on a lot of balls tonight, even ones that didn't end up as steals or turnovers. For whatever reason he seemed a lot more active on defense.

Yeah, it seemed as though he figured out their plays and knew when the pass would be made to the cutter. I think he must have tipped abou 4-5 passes in the second half. Unfortunately, we weren't able to make the steal on most of them, but it was very impressive and yet another facet of the game where he excelled tonight.

I, like many here, have been critical of Robinson, but tonight he was terrific and deserves credit for a gutty effort.

Yes it was. He was the primary reason for the W. But again, not to beat a deadhorse. That is what 4 year starting PG's are supposed to do every once in awhile.
