Have you ever seen anything like last night? Are we that bad, or is it just difficult to play with any amount of heart when your offense is this bad?

I'm trying to give myself some hope in thinking that at least some of these younger guys who will be here for a few more years aren't actually this bad.

It was painful.

Just like winning is contagious, so is losing. This particular defense feeds off energy and I think when they see no matter what they do they aren't going to win, it's impacted the basics on the field.

That's what I'm hoping. Duke last night was seemingly tackling really well against a much better team. Their talent level can't be that much higher than ours on defense.

We did miss a ton of tackles. That needs addressed.

What is more disturbing to me is how predictable we are and our inability to recognize the same predictability in our opponents That goes for both our defense and our offense.

We are not out coaching even bad coaches. We have to win on talent.

This year, we have done a very poor job utilizing the talent we do have.

Not to defend this team at this time, but tackling everywhere seems to be awful. I wonder if teams just don't hit as much in practice anymore.

We were not prepared to face the read or speed options. Our edge players got killed all day.

I'm racking my brain trying to think of guys who missed that many tackles but went on to have decent careers. Otherwise, I can't reconcile rooting for this team in the foreseeable future, lol.

Out safeties missed a lot of tackles against Hooker in 2021, but that's 260 barreling at you with a full head of steam. Shit.. Notre Dame 2020, maybe?

What I saw were a ton of missed tackles and a lot of guys standing around being spectators. They're actually getting paid to be spectators! Just plain unacceptable.

I'm curious how far back we'd have to go to find 26 official (per PFF) missed tackles. Cause that means it was probably closer to 40 by most fans' standards.

I was so pissed on the third and goal from the 10 where the qb carried our team into the end zone. I had to turn it off.

Was that the one where Nick Lapi, after celebrating the previous play, had the Bugz Bunny whiff after two-hand-touch Hayes got dragged like a wildebeest carcass by a lion?

Rewa
Hayes must have had a guy wrapped up in the backfield five times only for him to eventually break loose. I'm not even as disappointed in Hayes as I am left questioning... how weren't there three more guys swarming the ball in that amount of time?
Rewatched the game. First quarter they were, but as the game went on they increasingly lost contain and got run over.
