People will complain because this doesn't help the home schedule. People feel entitled to a home slate of mich st, Kentucky, and Kansas.

Premptive bitching about bitching that hasn't happened yet.

Love it. Is that "good for the board"?

Lol

It doesn't help the home schedule. Identify one poster who advocates playing a final four line up in the preseason. Typical hyperbole.

I'm sure this news will prompt more season ticket sales.

Nothing exists unless you says it does.

BTW, caught your post before the edit that's rich coming from you.

I'm exaggerating, of course. But the non con is looking very solid for next year, and I'm sure people like you will still complain because you feel entitled to "entertaining" home games.

I did edit the post soon after I posted. No biggie. I won't make this a big deal. It really isn't worth it. I thought we were being funny, you thought it was something else. But then, you are very principled, so good for you.

hilarious that some people complain about other fans wanting entertaining games over 50+ contests with schools no one has heard of.. even more ridiculous is that we have such low standards to what a competitive OOC schedule looks like that a game against Marquette or SMU is news-worthy..

Ridiculous that most can't comprehend that our ooc schedule is generally not significantly worse than most other teams and one ore game would generally put it on par.

And you still can't distinguish between home and away non conference games.

Why such disdain with our fans?

You do realize over the past couple of years we lost a quarter of our season ticket holders. And you can expect another drop this year. What do you do if your Barnes? Declare our fans are a bunch of low life complainers who don't understand modern day basketball scheduling. Further reinforce that by stating our schedules don't really suck when compared to others. (Although that may be tough given a school 90 miles south of us has games scheduled with an SEC opponent, Virginia, VT, and want to schedule us.)

Or maybe address a growing concern of paying customers. It didn't take Barnes too long to figure it out.

Top 4 games for both: Florida, Virginia, SD St, and V Tech versus Gonzaga, Purdue and Kent St, Davidson. I would give them a slight edge if we compared versus when the schedules were set. Virginia was part of the Jimmy V thing. Florida was B12-SEC game. Ours comparable games are Gonzaga/Purdue. So really we have SD St/V Tech (were projected worse than they did) compared to Kent St and Davidson, both who annually compete for a tourney slot in March from their conferences. Coming into the season, I would say the schedules were very close.

The rest of their OOC: North Kentucky, James Madison, Stetson, Bethune-Cookman, Richmond, Kennesaw St, UL-Monroe, Marshall (their Duquesne) and Eastern Kentucky. That looks awfully familiar. Richmond the best of the bunch, comparable to Morehead St RPI-wise.

I would say WVU's is basically 1 game "harder". If that. It's a shame the Gonzaga game didn't play out. Could have helped our RPI.

yet our program gets laughed at by national pundits and I don't see the same articles written about these other programs. Guess it's a witch hunt..

I asked you how many cupcakes we played, you said we played 7 cupcakes. I asked how many most teams played. You never answered.

do you want me to go thru every other team's schedule and list their cupcakes? I don't want to do that..

Then how can you have an argument comparing our schedule to other's then if you aren't even willing to look at them??

That's not what I asked you to do. Just swag it. Or just check 3 comparable teams. Heck, I just did WVU for you right above. Do 2. If you are going to say we are worse, shouldn't you at least know if we really are, or if we are, by how much?

No it kills his narrative

I am over arguing about this topic, we've beaten this topic to death last week.. you win Kiwi.. Honestly, if every program treats their OOC as a 2 month exhibition season then shame on all of college basketball. 50 point wins don't do it for me, if it entertains you, watching pitt embarrass other programs you haven't heard of, you are a better fan than I am. I wish you well in all future endeavors kiwi, you are a prince among men..

Thought so. Great response by the way. You didn't make it personal, it was well thought out, fact based, no hyperbole or goal post shifting. It was a pleasure.

no reason for personal attacks, you're a pitt fan so good in my book. the hyperbole thing is a big deal, I tend to go overboard to support my point.. good debate, i'll relax on the topic..
