3 int = loss

full back easily running up the middle for 8 yards everytime = loss..

men vs more athletic boys = win for men

What game are you referring to?????

At least have correct info:
Chris Swain - 27 carries - 114 yards 4.2 yard average

Is that 8 yards a carry??? Noooo... they nickel and dimed us to death, that is what they do. chop block, get guys hurt and angry and out of position. Our men hung in there

thanks for the math lesson Pascal....I'm referring, of course to several 7 or 8 yard first down runs and third and medium runs for first downs..sorry for the poetic license on the "every time"

I think it's a good point by everyone. Pitt simply could not get the Navy offense off of the field at critical times. Letting Navy convert a first down when they have a 2nd and 20 is unacceptable. The DTs were horrible yesterday. They didn't play smart football, and they didn't play with the strength and power they possess.

The offensive play-calling lacked any imagination, and the OL decided to quit before the game started. There's no reason why a 230 pound running back, running behind an OL that weighs in excess of 300 pounds at every position, shouldn't absolutely dominate the LOS every single play.

??? A couple no gains? For your math to be accurate, it would take 13 no gains to equate every other carry to be 8 yards. That didnt happen at all. The guy disappeared in the second half after we made adjustments. They still tried, he just didnt succeed.

I think our DT's did do their jobs, they clogged up blockers so galambos can make tackles, that is their 'job'. Now, someone like Aaron Donald does that job and blows up many plays a game also, we dont have the guys that can do that. We also dont have the ends that can do that. Price is a pass rushing whizz, not as stoudt on running plays. Rori Blair was flat out horrific yesterday. Played horribly, was pulled and didnt play much in the second half. He got pushed around, I dont know what the reason for that was, because he has been a solid player and pleasant surprise

If the dive play/QB keep up the middle was there every single play, the DTs were not doing their jobs. I would venture to guess that 80% of the plays resulted in the DTs being pushed outside of their lanes, allowing an easy run straight up the middle. There were several instances where KK was picking himself up off the ground after being dominated by the Navy OL. The MLB cannot cover every gap on every play. The DL need to force the play to either side and allow the LBs to fill in and make the tackle. If the middle is wide open, along with the outside, it's going to be a long day.

Keep in mind, it wasn't just the DTs that had a terrible day. The DEs certainly didn't do much to improve their stock either.

Well, I agree the line didnt do their job, but I can see what the pres is saying. I think the first 2 drives we did horrendous, then the DTs looked better after that. But clearly the whole Dline wasnt anywhere near an elite level which we need to be... well... elite. It was not even at a decent level yesterday, and has been a problem, as expected pre-season, all season long. If it wasnt for Price playing out of his mind several games I think the dline would be given a D+ grade on the year. I would say C overall due to Price. But Price isnt a guy against an option team, he is too small of a DE.

The interception when Boyd fell down hurt. If Pitt scores a TD on that drive and the game may have been a little more interesting. They left points on the board with the offense, but the defense and its inability to stop Navy is what did them in.

And Blewitts horrible kick once again. That kid has zippo confidence. We need a new kicker.

All three INTs were in their red zone. That is possibly 24 points off the board right there

Yep.

FWIW, Pitt punted twice in the game. A total of 5-6 stops for the Navy defense (depending on how you view the missed FG)
Navy punted once. A total of 2 stops for Pitt's defense.
