Yep another step in getting this program back on the winning track. When was the last time you saw the Pete rocking like that after Murphy hit that shot with under 4 seconds left to win the game. If anything it just shows how Jeff Capel has brought this team back in the last 2 seasons from where it was under Stallings two years ago.

I am so curious to hear from him and hear his side of the events. I’m sure PGH media members have tried to talk to him (you would hope so — especially considering he is seen around Pirates spring training and PNC Park).

The football board often posts that Heather only cares about the olympic sports. If that was true, does the Stallings' buyout and hire of Capel occur? Me think not. Show the man support and keep him here long-term. He has a similar record to Hurley at the same point in time, with much less initial talent to work with.

Show the man support and keep him here long-term. He has a similar record to Hurley at the same point in time, with much less initial talent to work with.

If Lyke only cared about olympic sports, then we wouldn't have seen the Narduzzi raise/extension after going 5-7; we wouldn't have seen the big renovation of the football locker rooms and the entire south side facility; we wouldn't have seen the hiring and retention of a bunch of high-priced assistant coaches like Partridge and Beatty; we wouldn't have seen the renovation to the Petersen Events Center; and we certainly wouldn't have seen the Stallings buyout and the Capel hire.

The opinion that Lyke and the athletic department "only care about olympic sports" is exclusively because she didn't walk in, put on a hard hat, and immediately start construction on a stadium in Oakland. I don't think that's particularly well-informed.
