4-Team Playoff Set

Time to expand the playoff or let the G5 split off and start their own playoff. Cincinnati was an undefeated conference champion with as many, if not more, Top 25 wins than every other team being discussed, and apparently they don’t even sniff the top six. What else can they do?

The NCAA may offer March Madness, but January is about as stable as it gets. The only good thing about the CFP being an elitists' game is that Penn State ain't in the club.

ND to finish the season with two ass whippings.
Gee that just ruins my day. 😄

Its always Bama, Clemson, OSU, and a rotating 4th team.

I saw a stat that only 6 teams have won a CFP game.
Correct. And those are the 3 programs that year in year out have the best recruiting classes, most high NFL draft picks, best (and most highly paid) coaching staffs, biggest budgets, etc.

It’s a cabal, as is the mega conference landscape now that is heavily responsible for this situation.

An 8 team playoff is necessary, not because it would break up the cabal or change the two teams facing off in the NC game, but to make things a little more interesting and to give teams like Cincinnati and A&M the chance to play the teams they think they’re more deserving than for the right to get their asses handed to them by a Bama or Clemson, so they can’t bitch about not getting a shot. It would also force a ND , Oklahoma and the rotating 4th team (and this year, Ohio State) to justify their inclusion over the other teams with a valid claim.

“Lies and the Lying Liars who tell them”. This was a book written by comedian and later turned politician Al Franken It was a best seller.
They could have put the picture of the committee chairman on the cover of this book.

Ohio State got in because it’s the Big 10 and better for ratings. Never mind they only played 6 games and had a strength of schedule that was 57. He said they got in because they were undefeated and a conference champion. He said the committee didn’t have much disagreement on this. Also making them #3 is garbage but the real reason is the committee didn’t want to see a Clemson Notre Dame three peat.

College football is killing itself and the ratings will be bad again because half the country just won’t care.

I think the fairest solution would be an eight-team playoff consisting of every P5 champion, two at-larges, and the highest ranked G5 champion. It makes conference championships matter more, gives the “little guys” a fair shake, and teams like Oklahoma (who have been pretty hot in the last month after starting with two losses) get a chance to run the table.

So Bama - Clemson again in the championship game.
Personally, I'm not going to watch any of that crap. Why? Because it might be a great game, Coastal Carolina vs, BYU was a great game too. Just tired of the same old/same old feel of these playoffs, I don't care who is the "best 4 teams" I'd rather see something where nobodies get a chance to knock off the "best teams", like March Madness. CFB playoff is boring, never any variation or surprise over who makes it.

It's like a monopoly, these teams that are ALLOWED to make it, will surely ALWAYS get the best concentration of top recruits, so they won't drop down. It's a great sport with a GARBAGE playoff system that's super boring and predictable.

And really, letting a UCF or a Cincy in won't create any more blow outs, there are already plenty of blowouts. But nobody complains and say's keep ND or tOSU out, since they've been blown out in the past.
