According to Pitt.edu there are over 318,000 living Pitt alumni. If we can just get every one of us to donate $5.24- month to NIL we too can compete with OSU every year.

Come on you pay board people. Dump that $9.99 a month you are paying Peak and get on board.

Only 317,950 alumni to go.

😀

When it becomes fully pro with a CBA and salary cap, that is how we will compete. Every lawsuit brings us closer. That is the obvious end game but it's crazy that they have to take all these babystep lawsuits first.

I have a better idea.

Does Ohio State offer online degrees? That way we can all just go back to school to convince ourselves we’ve actually been OSU fans all along.

Just think of all the great football memories we can pretend we’ve had over the past two decades.

I say sign up for online classes that might be free at OSU for football and Duke for basketball.

We'll never compete, compete. We're both small (in fans base and enrollment) and athletically poor. There is already talk of a salary cap ceiling not being constitutional. Obviously other leagues pull it off, so I'm sure it can be implemented with a break from the NCAA. However, NIL will always exist alongside it. If our budget is $24M, Ohio State's will be $54M.

I’m hardly an expert but I believe the reason that other leagues “get away with it” are because of unions with everything being collectively bargained. So if it’s gonna happen at the college level it will require more than just breaking from the NCAA.

Yes, I'm just saying that's step one and something some are arguing to be unconstitutional as the NCAA is currently constructed .

They wouldn't even be able to get 10% of alumni to give $1 per year.

We could be a decade away from a CBA and salary cap because that is the LAST thing the SEC/B10 wants and since they are the ones with the resources to fight, i.e. get stays issued on rulings and run out appeals for years.

Pitt is totally and completely on the wrong side of college athletics. Pitt is in the old paradigm of players are a commodity and coaching is a premium. Now, coaching is a commodity, players and analytics are a premium. Well... in Pitt's case it IS analytics. Coaches like Capel and Duzz were great in the old days - w/ a level playing field they could compete in recruiting due to relationships forged over years. Those skills are obsolete. The only skills relevant are identifying talent at an affordable price for building a roster.

Neither of them are suited for the current state of the sport. We are looking at a couple of dinosaurs who have YEARS at Pitt ahead. This is going to be bad. Real bad.

The issue though is if Pitt or another school matches that level, the top programs will increase their efforts as well. They also have a lot more revenue and program worth to play with. If anything, they need a legal cap for all schools if they want competitiveness, but that’s not what they want.

No need....the majority of fans for these state schools have never took a class at the school.

i would but i used it for paramount plus. landman is more entertaining that watching pitt football lose 6 in a row..
In my household I bet we are doubled up on subscriptions if I dug into it. I’d be willing to bet we have more than 1 Amazon and/or Netflix account. Not to mention Max, Paramount+, Apple, peacock, Disney/espn.
