7-5 Pat

41-25 in the ACC is second best after Clemson during the Narduzzi tenure. That's about the most you can expect from a program that is usually around 10th-12th in the ACC in revenue, attendance, and spending. We well outperform where we should be. We often spend less than Syracuse, who is 18-39 in conference under Dino in a similar time frame. We have a conference title and two division titles in that time.
This. Would we like more? Sure. Is it realistic to expect more more than once every decade or so? Probably not.

1 conference championship per decade is fine. I would like more 9-3s sprinkled in or maybe a 10-2 (if we dont win the conference).

I see 9-3 with losses to UNC and FSU remaining. THis is a good pitt football team. There wont be any room on the bandwagon come week 15 when we are on our way to a good bowl game

Im not going to disagree right out of the gate. Teams change week to week.

But we got pushed around for much of the ballgame

Against a very pedestrian team

Those 2 + WVU, ND, probably at Duke or another one. 6-6 at best. Probable 5-7. No QB. No WRs. Hard to win like that.

5-7. I don’t throw that out there lightly. But after two full games, admittedly not a huge sample, but I have not seen a Pitt offense this bad since Shawn Watson and Lil Phil Jurkovec, aka DiNucci (after Max Slovis went down).

There was no improvement from Watson and Nooch in that season and I can’t see anyone coming to the rescue this year either, unless Phil gets dinged and CV comes in and lights it up. But I don’t know that CV would do much with this offense either. Uninspiring OC, no skill players and disappointing OL. And the defense seems wobbly too.

Can’t see where anyone is predicting even 7-5, and better than that? 🤪 Again, that’s only on a small sample though. Maybe we’ll see an amazing 180 on Saturday from the coaches on down. But we really think so though?

Just have to wait out a bad season it looks like. Had ‘em before. Will have ‘em again. Bright side, the Pitt brass can go skiing in Vail over the holidays now instead of a crappy low grade bowl in El Paso.

At least Browne completed 65% of his passes even when you drop that rice game.

It’s true. I shouldn’t have dissed Browne that way. He had a glimmer, but then bad luck. There’s an interesting YouTube amateur documentary that was made on Browne and his overall hard luck career, likely easy to find with a YouTube search on his name.

Obviously it’s apples to oranges because Jamie Dixon had a much better resume, but I’ll say the same thing about Narduzzi as I did when the former left for TCU: be careful what you wish for.

If Michigan State targets Narduzzi, we should do whatever it takes to retain him and give him the necessary resources to find the best offensive coordinator available.

The OL got pushed around in Wofford game too. Couldn’t run at all. Difficulty in the pass game. Eventually some plays got made and with so many possessions, we added up points, but it was far from easy. Against what should have been a frightfully overmatched defense. That was when the worry should have started.

After inheriting Boyd, Conner, and Co. and doing 2 straight 8-4's. These are Duzz's season records:

2017: 5-7
2018: 7-6
2019: 7-5
2020: 6-5
2021: 11-2 *Covid Kenny
2022: 8-4
2023: will be very lucky to go 7-5

Lets be honest here. Duzz is a horrific recruiter and is a Covid Kenny year away from probably being fired. He has accumulated a G5 level team with only a few exceptions.

Bumping this. "7-5 Pat" seems like a huge compliment right now.

Narduzzi has been nothing more than an average coach unless he has 1st Rounders at QB and WR. Now, he has G5 QB and WRs and he may go 1-11.

Will be 7.11 - 5.67 if we go 2-10 this season.

So it'll be more like 7-6 Pat.

So 6-6 Paul, who actually dealt with the ramifications of the coaching carousel, was a big dumb moose, but Duzzzzzzz is a sacred cow for having raised the standard by a half game in 9 years.

As I said, he is 1 game better than Chryst. And he is under contract until 2030.
