I said before, this FBI thing is the best thing that could happen for the cheaters in college basketball. Nothing happened. They now have free reign to do whatever they want. What a waste of government resources. There's a 99.9% chance you will never get caught and if you do, you get 6 months in a Federal country club. Big whoop
College sports is a cesspool now. I've lost most of my interest in it because of how ugly it is now. I go to some games for God knows what reason, probably out of habit. But if I have something else to do, like go shopping with my wife or do some things around the house, that's what I do. I can't help but be interested in Pitt, again because it's out of habit and engrained in my DNA. But not as much as I used to even 5 years ago. It's just not worth it. Too many other things to do now.
You already said Collier in a different thread. I for one appreciate your posts, they just sometimes come across a little arrogant. I like Collier, but I don't love him. He seems like a SF/PF tweener to me.
There’s simply too much money at stake for everyone involved . How in the world does it make any cents to pay a bb or Fb coach anywhere from 20-70 times what tenured PHD’s make at what is supposed to be a learning institutions !

The basketball and football teams generate much more revenue. That's why coaches are paid more than professors. When 15K fill arenas to hear lectures and networks start televising them, then they will make as much as coaches.
I understand why athletes and musicians make the money they do .
However colleges and universities first and foremost mission is education not who has the best bb or Fb team . The money is what’s wrong with the game and it’s never going away .

I really enjoy college bb , but not recognizing the horrible influence money has had on college bb is putting your head in the sand . The money encourages cheating because the rewards are so great for the adults involved .
Being a Pitt fan I really wish they’d do more of what it takes win . If you can’t beat them join them .

And I pose the question, what makes so many of you believe Pitt is as pure as the wind blown snow compared to other schools? Because we don't land the top 25 recruits? Think about it and think about how awesome other campuses are. Hot girls, great weather, deep history, whatever. The money excuse is just a loser message board go-to argument.

I have said that all along. There has to be something wrong with Pitt. Our last 4 head coaches recruited better at different schools, their worst recruiting came at Pitt.
Nothing wrong with Pitt at all. It's just other campuses offer far more for an 18yr old stud looking to play ball. Best days of my younger life were in Mississippi I can only image what Louisiana and Florida are like. And now I'm back in rotten California on a 1.5 year exit plan. We're moving to one of the "no-fly" states California publishes , it's up to 11 states now.
I am not going to take the time to read this entire thread.
